1:26 for me today at MCR half. Paced quite well for me, struggled last 2 miles but happy overall. Mate of mine from scholar green did it in 1.26.43 Pipped me then!

My old man did the Wrexham 10k yesterday, tore his calf muscle after 2k but continued to run the last 8k as he didn't want to look like a plank walking back Still completed in 49.25 and finished 13th in his age group... Not bad for a 60 year old with dodgy legs

Do any of you use insoles in your running shoes? Could anyone recommend some good ones?
I must land on the balls of my feet heavily and it causes them to blister quite often.

Yes absolutely Footbalance. You can get a pair heated and moulded to the soles of your feet for £45. I've got my arches supported in running shoes, work shoes, walking boots and wellies

First trip to the club tonight in 5 months
Starting to see the light with the injuries? Hopefully the physio has told me I need to get running although I delayed it until Congleton because I was in Devon for 5 days walking the cliffs and didn't want to risk aggravating the injury before then. Fourth run back yesterday, just over 7 miles in an hour including up to the Brit and up to the A50 bridge. Not fast enough to put the breathing under any pressure but just giving me more confidence.
I've had a few nice chats with Pam from your club comparing injuries and stretches which have been more than useful

Is a parkrun win still a win? Absolutely
I broke one of the Vet records at one last year. 5th out of 500 runners as well
Edit: your just 11% short of my Parkrun age graded % now

1.20 at the Great South Run this morning, position 2454 (1458 with gfy grading) it was a very sunny and warm day. One of the nicer start line views to the beach and sea.

It is a truly fabulous waterfront. I've been down there many times the last time being with the lad and his mate some years back. Think Crouchy might have scored from an overhead kick

Bit of shock to the system to leave the central heating behind at 6.30am this morning and step out into a cold, nagging headwind. 13 miles up onto Ilkley Moor and back.
