Ha! Yes. What Felonious has failed to mention is that he only did 6.66 miles of the full 20 as he was running in the relay I found that very tough today and am thinking I might have to lower my expectations for London. Still, it's another 20 miler in the bank with 10 at pace, so it's all good training. And as an added bonus, I've finally solved my nipple chafing issues. Vaseline and Plasters ? I was going to reply to felonious with a 'or 6 and 2/3' if he responded with a yes I've always found that any kind of plaster sweats off once I get going, so I had been using industrial quantities of bag balm (thick Vaseline like stuff that is meant for use on cows' udders). This time I tried a compeed blister protector thing and it stayed in place throughout.

Knighton was hot again! first real sun of the year. Only 2 water stations too! Saying that I beat last year by nearly 20 minutes and means I've got to re-evaluate my marathon pace now. I managed a consistent 9mm yesterday which is a good 45 seconds faster than what i was thinking of for my next marathon....

What's the worst that could happen

20 miles this morning, 2.57, a bit too muddy in one bit so was a gentle walk through it, a few hills and 600 ft elevation, 2nd one out of the way.

Over the cloud into Rushton, along the Rudyard path into Leek then to ladderedge and back via the feeder path by the golf club (with lots of walking/slipping). 33k in 3.10 with 425 meters of ascent in all, but it's all time on your feet so hopefully the slow overall pace isn't too much of a problem. I ran the length of Rudyard each way at marathon pace, but I guess I should do at least one with a fast finish for 10 miles or so. The pain/discomfort still makes me a bit nervous but I guess you just have to bite the bullet. I'll be glad when this is over.

1:30 at the Stafford Half this morning in blustery conditions so I've got to be happy with that.

Not as fantastic as Felonious, but came in at 1:46:06 at Stafford which I'm chuffed with.
More practice and hopefully I can get it down to 1:40.
Uttoxeter Half next, which I've been warned is tough.

There's one serious hill at around seven miles and a slight rise at ten miles but the downhills are fantastic. As you said, more practise, six weeks to be precise

Stafford Half: That elevation plan in the guide was slightly out...it was more sodding hilly than I thought! Some Bass drinker made running along Beaconside double the actual distance Im sure.. Still, I had a shocking 1st 10k & its been the closest that Ive ever come to pulling out of a race. Just not feeling anything at all, and constant foot pain (which Ive put down to the "new" trainers) However, for whatever the reason the 2nd 10k went like a rocket. 71 min 1st, 58 min 2nd. What could have been a bad run turned out not too shoddy at all, and to cap it I was the 1st runner from our Club back! So ironed out a few issues, got some more mileage in the legs, and not too bad a t shirt/medal at the end. Job done & as the Radio Stoke van says....You can take the lad out of Longton, but you can't take Longton out the lad

I've attached the elevation. As a side note, did anybody pick up a medium shirt and want a large? I fucked up and got a large.

Taking into consideration that some time thief stole 1 hour of my sleep overnight, an early run of 12 miles with someone whose training has been at a constant quicker pace than mine. 1:47 & back in time for cakes of oat, with bacon & cheese. Replacing those lost salts during the run of course 😂 London....I'm just about ready for ya.

She was telling me on the run about her breasts will be growing bigger during the London run as it will be about 6 hours from a feed .... felonious has met her
