Amid all this talk of signing young Barcelona players lets not forget our own 21(?) yr old starlet A new midfield of Cuvelier, Roberto (ex Barca) and Nzonzi next season? Or maybe none of them?

Is he actually good enough?

I am sure Hughes will look at Cuvelier in pre-season, he has defo got a better chance unger Hughes than Pulis to getting a look in.
IF he is good enough he will stay with us, if not will go out on loan again.

I expect Hughes will probably have decided whether or not he will make the grade by the end of August. He may still need to go out on loan, but he should at least have an idea whether his long term future lies at Premier League level or lower.

Is Cuvelier as highly regarded within the club as he is amongst the fanbase?

If he doesn't get selected this season then we may as well sell him.

if the palacios rumours are true then it does help flo's case for a place in the match day squad - can't see him replacing adam, N'zonzi and unfortunately whelan

Thing is if he is only part of the match day squad he would be better going on loan to a championship club (Yeovil perhaps) where they sign him and sign something saying he is guarenteed to start games.

I have high hopes for him, but has only seen him play on a couple of occasions. Think he will be able to take the step up if given the chance!

I remember when Louis Moult scored for Bradford and people were saying "Get him back, he's better than anyone we've got" Oh how we didn't laugh.
Tell you what, if we'd just signed a kid from Walsall (League One) everyone would be saying "well that's league one, what the fuck, must be one for the future but i can't see him stepping up though. Seems a stgrange one, he hasn't pulled up many trees down there has he?" However because he's already on our books, GET HIM IN! Give him a chance Pulis, i mean Hughes(y)!
Players on our books who play for us get shit after shit after shit. That's a lot of shit, trust me.
Players on our books who don't play for us become amazing, the answer to all our problems, the way forward, the light at the end of the tunnel is the light of an oncoming train.
It's true, honestly, i don't lie...Glasgow has to play next season, Ness & Cuvelier in midfield next season with Eve in goal and Nathan Ricketts-Hopkinson up front. FFS sort it out Pulis, sorry, Hughes(y)!

Anyone know how he got on at Posh? I'd read he wasn't playing much but did he get any game time in the end?

Is Cuvelier as highly regarded within the club as he is amongst the fanbase? is he highly regarded by fans or was he used as a stick to beat Pulis with? How many have seen him play?

I spoke to a walsall fan in the pub the other day, he saw cuvelier play at every home game. He said he was by far their best player and looked leagues above every other player in the division. So at the very least he's championship standard. But then you have to ask the question, is there any chance he could be worse than whelan and whitehead (before he went)? Also, how many of our players have captained their national team at under 19 level? Not many, possibly none

They were in a deep relegation battle weren't they, perhaps Ferguson preferred to go with what he knew and just got him in for numbers if he got injuries? My Walsall mate was less complimentary about Flo. Said he has bags of talent and was one of their better players but looked well of Prem level to him. I suppose he was playing with League One players though.

They put a decent run together in the run in. They only lost 2 of the last 13 games.
Difficult to change the team in that situation.

He's performed well in league 1 but nothing more than that at the moment. We are overloaded in centre midfield with first teamers like Wilson and Cameron waiting for a proper chance there. The logical step has to be for Flo to go on loan to a championship club for a year. If he cuts the mustard there he can then be integrated into our first team squad this time next year.

I happened to get talking to one of Walsall's trainers towards the back end of last season, his words were along the lies of Cuvelier's a good footballer, with a promising future but never a Stoke City player in a million years. That was obviously during the Pulis reign however so I dunno whether his opinion would be different with Hughes managing... He was fairly adamant that he wouldn't fit the Stoke mould at that time, I had no reason to doubt the fella either.

He's a 5ft 9"ish central midfielder! And a good footballer to boot.
