If Sparky gets the backing I would like to see us go for something like this Forster Bardsley - Shawcross - Huth - Rose Cabral - N'Zonzi Adam - Sessegnon - Zarate Crouch Push for top 10 then see where we can go from there. These signings wouldn't cost much AT ALL, how would you like to see us line-up next season?

Bego or Butland
Onouha Shawcross Huth New LB
Adam N'Zonzi

Bardsley would bea cheap option for RB. Cabral and Zarate on free transfers, and Rose on loan?

I can't see how you've plucked those names as realistic signings tbh. Three/four first team signings and we should piss a top 10 finish, hopefully we can pick up a talented young CB from somewhere too. Butland Shotton Shawcross Huth Left back Winger Wilson N'Zonzi Winger (Shea if he's good enough) Attacking mid Crouch

Butland Wilson Shawcross Huth Shotton Hoilett Adam Whelan Shea Walters KJ Have a feeling both Bego and N'Zonzi will be sold! We might bring in a left back and move Wilson to midfield too I guess!

Rose - Loan, would be class for us. Zarate - Free transfer from Lazio, great little player Sessegnon - Tricky little player who I think would thrive off of Crouch. Also would have Butland in goal, apologies as I forgot about him completely. These signings are 'next level' signings and we just HAVE to aim for good players or face another awful season coming up.

Id expect him to be the core group of players Sunderland will build around.

I can see Crouch being even less effective in a Hughes system as he tends to go with a 4-4-1-1.
For me Crouch needs play in a front two

Butland
Wilson Huth Shawcross Pieters
Cameron Nzonzi Adam
Hoilett Bony Ince
Subs:
[experienced back-up keeper - Green/Wright?] Shotton Whelan Walters Shea Redmond Jerome
Hughes' comment about not throwing the baby out with the bath water suggests he will not try to dismantle/remodel the team in one summer, but add to it over time. His main issue is creating and scoring goals, so I expect any Begovic/Jones/Crouch/Etherington money to be used on players like Ince and Bony, and someone like Nathan Redmond to bring on - pace, creativity and goals, and all younger players as well.

butland
shotton huth shawcross Wilson/alonso
. adam/cameron
hoillet/pennant. shea/wilson
. nzonzi/good attackin mid
. crouch/jones/someone pacey . (2 of 3)
Adam a bit deeper so he can spray passes over the pitch, pace on the wings and in attacking mid, 2 solids up front, we all know crouch is better with a partner, someone pacey around him. Would someone like le fondre be on the cheap? Maybe taraapt?

4-4-2 Begovic Wilko Huth Shawcross Ollsen
Hoilett N'Zonzi Cameron N'Zogbia
Jones Jerome
I honestly think we have a decent core squad because Wilson could play at left back or be in the middle for Cameron. Like wise Shea could be on the left instead of N'Zogbia. Of course, Butland for Begovic if he goes, to. I am going by Hughes's comments which suggested tweaking rather than dismantling.

If the rumours are true (not usually) - Crouch is off, Adam is off,Bego is off, Kightly is off, Jerome has two bidding for him, Pennant gone, Owen gone, Deano gone, Mama gone, KJ possibly off, Nzonzi off unless sparky can convince, SJW off ....
That leaves Butland, Shotton, Huth, Shawcross, Wilson, Hoilett(for crouch), Nzonzi (Sparky did it), Whelan, Shea, New striker, new striker
Personally, I think there will be two full backs, a new defensive mid, and two strikers ... Shotts,Wilson,Whelan on the bench -Downing in as part of the Bego deal
Butland Onuha Huth Shawcross New LB Nzonzi New Def Mid Hoilett Adam Downing New striker Bench Soro, shotton, wilko, ethrinton, shea,Cameron, new striker

3 times during his press conference LMH said there would no major changes to the existing first team squad.
I don't expect much activity in the transfer window.

Cabral just about confirmed to be joining Sunderland, and if Rose is available this summer and headed down the league, Sunderland will almost certainly be his destination too. Club love him and he loved his time here and wants to come back. As for Sessegnon... ha'way marra... ha'way...

The last thing we need is a goalkeeper.
If Begovic goes, Sorenson is more than capable of stepping into the fold and giving us a solid no.1 who can be a great influence and help to a younger upcoming keeper.
We do not need to waste any money on goalkeepers. Sorenson is more than good enough should Begovic leave and I would start the season with him as our No.1 and not have a single worry about that fact.

Totally agree... It will be interesting to see what Sparky does with RB/LB? No more square pegs etc same applies with wingers and that interesting combination of midfield and strikers... I would like to see both KJ and Crouch to stay with two GOOD wingers in the side.

I really dont think Sorensen is good enough any more. I think Bego stepped in at the right time when Sorro's consitency wasnt there and he made lots of mistakes. We've been spoilt with Begovic really who does his job flawlessly for the most part. Never really made a mistake in Pulis system. I think we could gamble on Butland tbh and keep Sorro as back up to him

Butland Richards Huth Shawcross Pieters N'Zonzi Wilson Hoilett McCarthy Sinclair Jones/ Crouch
Possibly sub in Adam or Barry into the defensive mid roles, maybe Shea on a wing if he's good enough, Bego in goal if he's still here
Bench: Sorro, Shotton, Livermore, Shea, Flo, Walters, Jerome

We've been spoilt with both our goalkeepers. As a combination, we have the best two goalkeepers in the league.
Begovic and Sorenson are both excellent goalkeepers and Begovic has really blossomed into a fine all-rounder.
We should be looking at big bucks for him and I mean a transfer fee that effectively amounts to somewhere in the region of 20m. I'm thinking 12m + some highly rated player from the right club. 12m + Downing for example, were he to go to Liverpool, or 12m + Ba should he go to Chelsea :-). 12m + Dzeko were he to go to Man City! ;-)
Big clubs will (if they don't they should do) want Begovic desperately so it might just be our chance to grab a player we may not otherwise have the chance to sign!
I suspect that Begovic may well be crucial to our transfer budget so we have to sell him wisely.
