Jaw droppingly wreckless if true. So insane in fact you almost have to have a grudging admiration for the sheer gall of the lunatic behind this decision. Oh well, I'm sure there is a good plan B and next season will be fine and dandy. The King is dead, long live the King and all that... Gods - if you are going to persist in using the word, and you have used it a lot recently, can you please start spelling reckless correctly for a change!

Massive summer coming up then. Need to get this appointment right because it could be a very difficult season ahead - That's not to say it wouldn't with TP in charge either.

Please no. If this is true, we can look forward to a worse scrape with relegation than we had this year.

If true, some pretty disrespectful replies on here by Stokies with short memories / or who should know better.
Before I get slated, I'm of the opinion that it is probably time for change, I think TP had lost sight of the vision he'd initially attempted to set up. So a change of manager is probably best to take the club forward.
That said, he has my admiration, respect and thanks for everything he and this football club have achieved during his tenure.
Our 2nd most successful ever manager in 150 years, if you're dancing in the street celebrating his departure you need to give your head a wobble.
Onwards and upwards, BE LOYAL BE PROUD BE STOKE!

Well... if it is true.... Take a moment to put immediate feelings aside - No Yeehaaaas and Yippees. I have reluctantly come to the place where this needed to happen - Tonys particular brand of football when played well is okay.... It can be exciting. and the look on Arsen Vengers face when he couldnt work out how to beat it was priceless...lol..... But it is time to evolve and sadly TP has shown he cant do that sufficiently.
Now in that moment.... remember where this club was when TP agreed to return - boing-boinging between the 2nd and 3rd tiers of english football.... He did a great job here and I hope that he gets the freedom of the Britannia to return when he wants (as a spectator)..... and the crowd sing Delilah as heartedly as we did on promotion sunday (remember that feeling) or as Bolton were crushed at Wembley (what a day) - TP gave us those days Yes maybe we would have had more good days if he knew how to handle big ego players and man manage stubborn millionaire footballers and give youth a better chance - but hey - its been a ride, and all in all, a good ride
So, Thanks Tony for the job you did and for the memories (that I thought i'd never see again in my lifetime) - best wishes in what ever you go on to - and now to get the next vital component for Stoke City absolutely right........

Worst news I've had in ages.
When we look around us at other sides who play a direct game who think they can change it to start playing like Barcelona and then go on and win the Champions League - they go down.
Wolves Sacked Mick Went down
Bolton Lost Big Sam Sacked Megson Went down
Blackburn Sacked Big Sam Went down
We're no different to these clubs in terms of size, stature, etc.
I can only see this ending one way.
Don't do it Coates.
(all that without mentioning the words 'Curbishley' or 'Charlton')

It's called planning, do it early enough and it gives the new manager time to sort it out.
Plus we've got much more financial clout than them clubs had at the time in terms of what the chairman is willing to pump in.

Who wants us to play like Barcelona? Where has this bollocks come from?
And Wolves and Blackburn's problems are far bigger than sacking their manager and they would have gone down irrespective imo. And the Bolton one is spurious at best, utter fucking bollocks at its worst.
