MirrorTony Pulis hopes Peter Coates will carry on as Stoke chairman.
Coates, 75, has bankrolled Stoke's success story from his Bet365 gaming empire and the Potters owner is said to be considering passing over the reigns to his son John.
Pulis has a very close relationship with Coates and his position may be weakened if the multi-millionaire stands down.
The Potters boss admits he would be sad if his old friend did decide to call it a day.
"If that happens, it happens," he said. "It's always been a pleasure to work with Peter.
AXE HIM JOHN!!! AAAAAAAAAAXXXXXXXXXXXEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! I'd love it if Tone was doing his post-match interview and felt a little tap on his shoulder, only to turn round and be met with Denise's massive strap on thrusting in his face. "Shut your mouth you little bitch Tony," Denise would squeal while ramming the huge plastic dong straight down Pulis's throat. As Pulis gagged and tried to free himself, John Coates could enter from stage left waving some ownership documents around. "Oh dear...Daddy's had a little accident and gone to the great boardroom in the sky. Guess who's in charge now?! Mwhahahahaha" If carlsberg did sackings.....

Would John axe TP in his first day in office in a "Sorry, Dad.. I'M wearing the daddy pants now!" show of muscle-flexing? It's an interesting one. It's a complete unknown, but would PC go along with that and say: "Well, you're the boss now, and it's your call". i'd put money on it that Pulis would walk if PC went simply because he knows what would happen if he stayed "Well, the Coates family have been triffic Nige but with Peter going i think now is the right time for the club to freshen things up at board level and management level. it's been an amazing few years at the club, i've got us to we've got to the Prem, i've got us to we've got to a Cup Final and i've got us to we've got into Europe. i think everyone has to agree what a legacy i've we've left and hope the club can push on from my incredible work that i've done single handedly the great foundations i've we've put in place. i'm just glad that i can leave after giving the fans such high expectations"

It would be an especially risky decision by any new Chairman to sack Tony Pulis.
Imagine one of the first decisions you took as Chairman went disastrously wrong and was taken against the opinion and advice of football experts.
You would be tarnished and carry the can for maybe the rest of your tenure as Chairman.
Highly risky and a huge gamble.

More smoke and mirrors from tony , he never seams to grasp the problem unless he chooses to just ignore it and put his own spin on it

Just ask any "expert" to check the stats for the last couple of seasons and come up with any comparitive stats where a Manager has kept his job? No? Didnt think so.

Everything looks and smells of change. When we look back it will be easy to see the signposts but when you are in the middle of it, it can be a mess of confusing signals.
Since the end of the last transfer window there has been signpost after signpost that the managers position was weakening, he has been more and more vocal telling us how great he is and the chairman has said less and less. Now we can deduce he may be saying less because he knows its not his call any more?
We are just waiting for the end of the season to implement change. Its now so close. I never want to wish a weekend away but I have never looked forward to a Monday so much!
A Pulisball free life could be just days away!!

We're on a downward spiral - 2nd season in a row with less points despite spending more money. Squad, due to serious mismanagement, needs serious overhaul. Style of play easy to combat by fitter, better coached footballing sides. Anyone who thinks Pulis is the future knows jack about football, so called experts or otherwise.

You would be tarnished and carry the can for maybe the rest of your tenure as Chairman. Highly risky and a huge gamble. It's a fucking gamble keeping the bloke! If we play the same as we have been since January for a longer period of time we're going down and TP's inability to change worries me hugely in that respect. We could be bottom of the league and losing match after match and in the same way as Pulis played down our relegation form this year saying "we only need 6 points from 4 games" or whatever, he would probably come up with a similar thing to say: "Nah Nige... no pressure really, we just need 9 points from our next 3 games and results to go for us. We'll continue to play how we play and hope things start to drop for us" I mean obviously you're just an internet troll, but this issue people talk about of gambling on a new manager needs to be addressed. We must not forget just how much of a gamble it would be to keep TP and even if a new chairman brought in a new manager and we were awful, at least it would show a bit of initiative as most people can see that we desperately need a change. There is not that much of a gamble changing managers as we are a long way from guaranteed to do well enough with TP at the helm.

I wish some supporters could display an iota of the dignity TP does. This stuff is sad to read.
If you do go TP it will be with the eternal gratitude of a great many supporters and if you dont good luck working for this lot!
