He's not over there to scout players. He's heard that over there in Spainland they do this thing called "passink", "possin", "passing", or some word like that, when they play that exotic game called football. So trying to be newly postive to impress "The wonderful Coates family" he thought it was about time he found out about it. He took one look at it and it was all sort of foreign to him so he came back and said "I'm not going to change Nige".

I reckon the club have told Pulis that he's off at the end of the season (hopefully) and he's told the club to stuff the Awards night. So the club have invented this cover up - wonder if the lively and inventive Kemp thought it up ? Don't forget he spat his dummy out on the last day of the transfer window and disappeared to London because he wasn't getting things all his own way.

Maybe this is Tone's new job....chief scout reporting to Maaaark Cartwright and the boss has said he has to work rather than attend a jolly.

TP missing the Player of the Year awards is nothing new. He has done it before. I thought it was an excuse then and I think it is now. I wouldnt read anything into it though.

Keep goin folks. It's gonna be a long summer. I thought you were happy to see a change? I am mate as long as it is for the better. I just find it funny how people jump on every tit bit and turn into a sign that it is the end. We should just wait and see what happens instead of fueling the fire on both sides and everyone getting their hopes up/upset.

Fair play on that. I actually LIKE some of the proposed signings, as I said to RVD the other day. Maybe this season will be a wake up call for Tone, coming closer to relegation than comfortable? It would be nice to know what's happening because it's human nature to pontificate.

The Arismendi signing got even more shambolic when it came out that Coates and Scholes had hired a Spanish language world agent to highlight potential signings from South America, and one of his recommendations was Pastore. At the same time, The Lively And Inventive Dave Kemp had been exiled down there and came back with a recommendation for Arismendi.. although arent there rumours it was the wrong one? Either way, we all know how it ended up. if this is true it's actually quite funny and shows how small time we really are when it comes to shopping abroad. This has to be a sackable offence if correct, it cost the club what? £5M

It potentially shows just how long the power struggle has been burning on for

Must be true then. After all isn't this the same Rob Dorsett that announced on SSN that Defoe or whoever it was, was in the training ground signing after a kid outside had said he saw him go in?

for those who know me, know that i was firmly in the "he will still be here next season" camp, despite my concerns for the future under him.
however, he's a gonna, managers do not miss end of season award dinners for meaningless scouting missions, he's gone and now I can start to panic about the chairman's legendary ability to appoint managers, Mick Mills or Chick Bates anyone?

Exactly, surely Kemp would have been sent to scout the player.

According to my bespoke Tony Pulis satellite tracker my global Tony Pulis satellite tracker Tony Pulis satellite tracker. {boring inc.} He is currently closer to New Orleans than Lyon. I havn't set the settings to Summer yet, so it might not be accurate.. It might be broke though....
Shit... I wonder what he's saying?

Interesting look at Spanish wage budgets here. It does show how none of the teams, outside of the 4-5 big boys, can compete with the Premier millions. Scouting the lesser Spanish teams definitely seems a good way to go for us. Spanish wage budgets

Quite agree. A pointless exercise if ever there was one. Last chance to scout a player before the season is over??? Give me a break. If it was during the January transfer window I could understand it with time constraints etc but I'm convinced for one reason or another it's complete bollocks.

The journos definately think he is going dont they, its more out of hope than anything because Pulis is absolute shite at his media duties and i have to say incredibly boring trotting out the same old same old.

Yeah. Bit shocked at how openly Dorsett called the Spanish story a smokescreen. He could quite easily have ignored the question, given the s**t he's had for treading on toes at Stoke before.

Dont you think its extraordinary that the current manager of a club doesnt attend the end of season dinner, if there wasnt something seriously amiss for whatever reason. What a load of old bollocks it is that it is the last opportunity he had to scout the player, if it was primera liga when does there league finish i thought it was after ours. If so it all smells very bad to me, rob dorsett wouldnt tweet something like that if he doesnt know something. I think i might have a go to illicit some more.

Missing the awards night was pretty predictable tbh. I guess he views things like this as he does the Meet the Manager Evenings. He's openly admitted that he cares little for what the fans think so it's no great surprise and the trip will be a convenient excuse. I wonder if he had to pay extra for the golf clubs ??
