This stinks of desperation from the remaining hardcore rimmers.
Pulis is going and they're sensing it. Hooray!

Pulis must stay, we owe him so much. I'm starting this petition. Please stay Tone! We don't owe him anything, his job as a manager is to deliver results for the football club. over the last 7 season he has delivered results, leading us to promotion, 5 consecutive seasons in the prem and an fa cup final (i wont include europe, because we qualified by default). the man has merely done his job, dont get me wrong he's done it exceptionally well, but the time is coming to an end. results over the last 18 months have declined baring the a spell in nov/dec last year. if the club is to move forwards, take advantage of the extra income coming this summer and really lay the foundations for the future....then a new manager is needed. we will be eternally grateful for everything that Pulis has delivered, but we as fans owe him nothing....as he was purely doing his job.

Come on biancorossi, even you are not seriously proposing we replace a man who now has 5 years Premier League experience and an FA Cup Final under his belt with someone who is about to fail to take Brighton out of the Championship despite them being the best supported club in that league?

He's done a job for us and we've paid him millions to do it.
We gave him a chance to manage in the premier league and backed him to buy who he wanted to achieve that and keep us there.
The club and the manager have done well out of the deal.
But we don't owe him anything.

Last financial figures suggest Brighton's wage bill is below average in the Championship, to be fair. He is doing a good job there by any standards.

Fail to take Brighton out of the championship? Christ Gods this isnt Nazi Germany...lets just deal with reality and not ridiculous propoganda that makes out TP is somehow a more competent manager than Big Gus. This is a guy who has worked wonders at Brighton. They dont have a right to be on the brink of promotion to the premier league...hes taken them to this position and hes done it by playing some absolutely fantastic (but organised) football. Hes already been linked with the Arsenal job and I think its pretty disrespectful to Gus to suggest he wont be able to hack it at Stoke. So presumably Gods, by your theory, Swansea should never have gone for Laudrup because he had never proved himself in the premier league? Come on Gods you're better than that. Show some ambition and accept that its time to open our mind to new opportunities. Sure there is an element of risk with whoever we bring in..but its time to give it a whirl and try something new. In terms of Big Gus as a manager he fits the bill perfectly. Places emphasis on playing good, quick, passing football while maintaining solidity at the back. Has a fine knowledge of the South American market and appreciates youth. It simply has to be him. Tragically if Brighton get promoted we've got no chance of getting him.

I don't see what we are saving him from? He isn't going to be executed? He will get another job after leaving Stoke and hopefully leave a fantastic legacy. If we stay up, he will leave us in a far better position than we were before he came...

Go but with grace and own his own terms which i think is fast approaching. I strongly believe though he wont be pushed it will be his decision and may also lead to other changes at the top and a general wind of change through the club.

I wouldn't be too disappointed if TP stayed, but of course it could be exciting with the right man coming in too! I won't applaud TP leaving untill I see we have appointed someone better though! Anyway I will always be grateful to TP for what he has done to the club I support! He has probably given me the best years as I've experienced supporting this football club!

While I think this thread is a bit tongue in cheek, TP *should* be afforded more respect and a little more recognition IMHO.... I'm all up for a debate around club direction, styles of play and who a new appointment eventually may be but the levels of nasty, vitriolic abuse are unwarranted....
The assumption that so-called rimmers are in some tiny minority is also way-off - the Oatcake readership is only a small proportion of our overall support and many by their own admission do not go to matches nor want to - entitled to an opinion of course, but less informed than an active paying week-in / week-out "shareholder".....again IMHO
Most non-PHWs are actually fairly ambivalent and feel TP is owed some loyalty, and while accepting that changes are needed and indeed will no doubt come to pass will feel a tinge of sadness if he leaves the club completely.

Just because Pulis has been paid to do his job doesn't mean we don't owe him anything.
People get paid to do a bad job, those people we owe nothing. Pulis has been paid and done a good job, so we owe him something surely. Semi final day was the best day of my life, Pulis made it happen. Final day was the proudest day of my time as a supporter. Out of the 14 season tickets i've had, Pulis' have been my most enjoyable, apart from the last 18 months. I'm not saying we owe him a living, i do feel it's time he went, but we certainly owe him gratitude and respect at the very least.

What a ridiculous post Gods. On that logic we should have sacked Pulis the moment we arrived in the Prem and replaced him with a man who had experience of keeping a club in the Prem. Likewise the likes of Arsen Wenger or David Moyes would never have got a job with a premiership club because they didn't have at least 5 years premiership experience and an FA Cup Final under their belt. Most of the really top top managers do not start their managerial careers at the top level! BM
