I am afraid that after six years and over 4000 posts I am going to have to stop using this board. This is not one of those 'look at me' decisions, it is because this site is compromised and randomly launches porn sites. I can't use it at home or at work for this reason. At work it would be a sackable offence (I'm sure they would understand, but i don't want to be in that conversation in the first place). Meanwhile at home, I am a family man, with two young children. It is not acceptable that, as we sit at the breakfast table, I should be browsing the Oatcake and suddenly linked to a graphically explicit porn site, specifically this one: - dot - upforit.com/aff.php?dynamicpage=memb&profile=hot&a_bid=7eca83fb&a_aid=4b643c70&data1=uPv8iKQBEeKOmyIACvkTUA (I have disabled the link by replacing the first dot). This has been going on for years. I have raised the issue on two occasions and no one at the oatcake or proboards seems to give a flying shit about it. I can confirm that it is not a bug in either my laptop or my iPad, it is a bug in the site's software. You cannot help these hacks from happening but after several years and more than a few people over that time flagging the issue, I have to deem the site unsuitable and unusable. I cannot allow this to happen, so regrettably, I'm going to have bid you all good luck and do one. Be loyal, be proud, be Stoke Goodbye and thanks for all the fish Malvern

But worrying and Admin should try to sort it out. EDIT - "malwarebytes" my anti malware program often blocks sites I am directed to when I am browsing the Oatie. These may be the ones Malvern has problems with - so it may be worth him installing malwarebytes. Admin should still do their best to stop it happening though.

Never have I been redirected to porn sites. It's happened to me quite a lot , my mrs asks me if it's me she doesn't believe it just appears randomly Ive read in posts before of people being redirected to porn sites, just out of interest what anti virus and add blocker are you using. oh and you don't have any teenage boys in the house. these worms can be picked up by many different websites and set to trigger of the most frequent visited website to make it appear as though you are being redirected from the said website. A common place for these sort of things are people re posting shit on facebook.

It's happened to me once or twice, both at work and home.
Use Internet explorer at work and Chrome at home.
Work has a corporate anti virus and I use Avira with malware bytes.

I've had this chat on here before. Its not my kit, it s the Oatcake. I and plenty of others have raised the issue. The consistent response is one of denial. It s not good enough.
The only common factor is this site. These links would also activate from other sites if it was somewhere on the client-side.
In the meantime, my eleven year old son is deeply into Stoke, he's started sneaking a look at The Oatcake on his Nexus. Sooner r later hes going to be diverted to a porn site. As if some of the language on here, including my own, was not bad enough, linking to hard-core porn is an absolute no-go.
I've decided that I'm going to have to block the URL at the router.
I don't see that I have a choice. As soon as this thread has run its course, I'll be bailing out.

Can't say I've ever been redirected to any site off here. The adverts at the top sometimes switch to sites that I've been on like ebay is a bastard for that, but that's about it

That said, I've never had the porn problem with a PC either. I have noticed a high proportion of complaints use Apple devices. Do you use any syncing apps/programs between your devices?

That's also on a number of devices, checking your cookies etc should sort the problem and a good anti virus with malware protection in.

Strange, i have never ever been linked to any porn site from any of the incarnations of the Oatcake. I usually have to find them of my own accord!

It's a shame that this appears to be happening to people. Personally I have never had this problem on the oatcake.. I get it often on streaming sites for TV programmes and footy matches etc.. Where you have to wade through the ads and close them one by one until you can click play. Admin should take a serious look at blocking this stuff out For good. Malvern, hopefully your son doesn't start to mention that there's an extremely high number of local single ladies apparently looking for some fun! Admin get a handle on this please!

The link doesn't work! On a serious note this has never happened to me either using IE or Chrome as I use now. I used to get the search based adds at the top like Halfords or Ebay, now use add blocker, but never diverted. Very strange. P.S. Hope you get it sorted mate. Not many good posters left on here.
