To be fair Harry, TP is totally correct.. So the fans have no right to be unhappy with the season we've had, is that what you're saying? Of course they do. it's been pretty dire...but over the last 7 years it's been a great time to be a Stokie...all this talk about wasting money could be used by virtually all Premier League supporters...do you not think other clubs have not wasted a fortune on players that simply aren't good enough.. TP has made many mistakes, the quality of football has been poor and he is annoyingly stubborn, but given the progress we've made over the 7 years, I'm prepared to cut him some slack for the time being

There's no sign of it getting better and this mess is entirely his fault. He's done brilliantly but that doesn't mean he should have a job for life.

Pretending this is all someone else's fault? Giving him another wedge of money to piss away in the summer? Putting up with yet another season where the other 91 teams in the pyramid score more than us?

Fantastic interview and that is why he deserves the respect of EVERY Stoke City supporter. He may be a stubborn sod but he lives and breaths Stoke City and he loves the area. It is plain to see the great relationship he has with the owners and this is why I think he will be here for as long as he wants to be. Let's not pretend he respects the fans. No - because that would not fit in with your view of the man - I happen to disagree. I really do believe that too many of us are far too precious and are looking for any utterance that can be twisted to support the "Pulis has no respect for us" agenda. I do not think I can remember reading, or hearing anything, within its full context, that is disrespecting the supporters. And as for interpreting his team selections as "disrespecting" us I believe that to be utterly ludicrous - I believe he picks the team that he believes gives us the best chance of succeeding overall - not just one particular game. (And I agree that from my perspective he quite often gets it wrong - but I am not too sure that my choices would do us any better!!)

Dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't comes to mind. Every word, sentence and paragraph put under a microscope to see if its meaning can be exploited for something it isn't. Good read

" there's a new generation of support who have been given and given and when they don't get what they want they complain " Maybe it's your intellect To be fair Harry, TP is totally correct.. So it does mention it? Almost all the Stokies I know who've had enough of him have been following the club for a lot longer than TP has been in the picture. I'm glad TP feels he has the time for such a lengthy PR exercise this close to such a massive game.

It's a nice party political broadcast on behalf of the Tony Pulis Party.
Not sure what it tells us though - or why it's being rolled out now?
I'm sure he has a real emotional attachment with the club - he has been driving it forward for the last decade. He wouldn't be human if he hadn't.
It's all about the on-pitch product, and nothing contained within that article helps to explain the mess of the last 18 months and the odd decisions that have led us to this point.

The timing is odd but would the nation's leading football correspondent really come up to do a magazine type piece just on TP's bidding? I don't take the Telegraph so don't know if these behind the football portraits of the man are a regular feature. It is the sort of thing you normally find in a Sunday Times supplement with a picture of TP on a Chaise Longue in his cap and nutting towel, stroking a corgi.

And an artsy picture of Kim Jong Il on the wall.

Anyone else find it quite ironic that Coates calls himself a socialist? He's made his money in bet 365 primarily by seizing on the vulnerability of others. I have little sympathy for gamblers if that's what they want to do but find Coates' liberal claims somewhat hysterical. He is the epitome of the champagne socialist.

RAF. There you go again. I repeat on your behalf. There is nobody on this board more disappointed than me about a number of aspects of the managers style etc.
Personal agenda. If trying to have an open mind about all things SCFC, engage in fair and constructive debate then yes I'm guilty.
Hope this meets with your approval

You are far from open minded, constructive or fair minded Peter let me tell you. Then again your word can't be trusted on here because if you aren't making 'facts' up you are flouncing off promising never to return. Fortunately most on here are wise to you.

It is a great read and it does make you think "how the hell can't I warm to this man. He clearly has a very strong affection for Stoke City and the area and you just have to like the bloke".
I will start my drive back from Burnley for today's game in 20 minutes thinking about this and then, at 2.20pm when I hear the team I will think "WTF Tony. Why don't you just fuck off". I will then watch the game, boring as it will most likely be and as I drive back to Burnley I will be thinking "why the fucking hell do I bother making this journey every week. The sooner TP fucks off the better".
The man not only splits the supporter base, he even splits the individual right down the middle.

Interesting read.
One thing that really gripes me on here is some posters referring to TP as the 'despicable one' quite how people can refer to him as that after all the charity work that he does for the DLT is unbelievable especially when you consider the events in Derbychats despicable.

Addictions are diseases. Lets not condem others, cause they sin diffrently than us... That all said, this article doesnt really say anything. Its just a bit of tub-thumping...
