Yes, a good read. But I wish he could bring some of the humility and thoughtfulness he shows in that interview to his dealings with the fans and to setting his team out to win games.

Very good read.
That's TP for me and you can't help but like him when he's talking like that.
Interesting revelation about him being partly to blame in Owen's lack of game time. I think many suspected this to be the case but I didn't think he'd admit to it.
I hope we see more of the attitude and desire Tone portrays in this piece as we seem to have lost it in translation when the lads walk out onto the pitch.
Today's the day.
Gooooooaaaarrrrrnnnn Tone.
Gooooooaaaarrrrrnnnn Stoke.

Fantastic interview and that is why he deserves the respect of EVERY Stoke City supporter. He may be a stubborn sod but he lives and breaths Stoke City and he loves the area. It is plain to see the great relationship he has with the owners and this is why I think he will be here for as long as he wants to be.

Good article
Still doesn't like the academy does he?
I understand that his concern about giving kids everything at an early age, but it's how football is now. Times have changed, football is changing and if we want to be a success then academy's are the way forward.
I suppose his dislike towards the academy and his unwillingness to change his feelings on it is very similar to his style of football and his reluctance to evolve.

Interesting article and one that does show TP cares about the club and commands respect.
Interesting admission about Owen.
Still talks a load of shit about 'impatience' and 'being given and given and given'.

I live and breath football (and the club) but I still know that hoofing the ball at the big guy up front isn't football and people want to see some skill, pace, trickery and excitement for their money

Well done for investing 2 hours showing a senior media type round, that sort of thing can pay dividends in the coverage we get as a club and can't but help Pulis' personal charm offensive now he's beginning to realise his neck's on the line. What stuck out like a sore thumb to me was the repeated use of the word "socialist".

Which begs the question, if Owen has been available for more games than he's been selected, why??? Why the fuck when we are so short of goal scorers, are we continually leaving one of England's greatest finishers out of the side week after week???

He's too small to play up front in a TP side and we don't create the chances for a poacher.

Focusing more on the controversial content of the article,
''If it all goes pear shaped tomorrow and I leave the club.....''
''There are a couple of things that concern me about academies. Are we giving the kids too much? Are we getting the right people involved in the academies? ''
Is Pulis referring to the Villa game as in 'tomorrow'? This for me was the most intesting sentence.
Is his gripe with the academy that he is not being given any control over it (the control freak that he is)?
did anyone else interpret it similarly?

He's too small to play up front in a TP side and we don't create the chances for a poacher. I'd have thought that would have been discussed by the management team prior to signing him. He's a striker, play him there, off Crouch or Jones. His size hasn't changed since we signed him, we knew exactly what we were getting. He would score goals, even with limited chances. The Walters and Shotton chances at Everton, in my opinion would have been scored by Owen. He's been given no chance at all

The manager just can't resist a 'name'. Hoofing the ball up to Owen up front would be as disastrous as the current set up.

Hugely stage-managed interview. Any reporter worth his salt (and I generally have respect for Henry Winter) would pursue the admission that he's not played Owen as much as he could. Why not a single mention of a tactical approach that is driving people away in droves. I'd have a lot more respect for Pulis if he answered these questions rather than rubbishing anyone who dares to ask them.
