You would think they would want someone who was at least a 8 out of 10

mmm...sounds like this one will happen then.
Strange, if only because Reading are very likely going down to the Championship and Brighton have an outside chance of sqeeking up to the Premier League via the play-offs.
He may be regretting this come May.

Adkins can be grating but I'd sooner have him over Poyet any day of the week.

I'm still bitter about when he was Scunthorpe manager to be honest, when we beat then 3-2 both home and away he basically said his team were the real winners because they played football the 'right' way. Anybody that thinks there's a right way ti play football should be shot in my books ;D

The next manager betting is always very unpredictable, He's odds against with one firm now!
Bigger clubs than Reading await Gustavo, hopefully us in the summer

Maybe he will, maybe he won't, but I'd like to see him at least match what Gary Johnson et al achieved and get a team into the play offs if not Pulis, Boothroyd and Phil Brown and actually get one promoted before we threw our weight behind him.

oh dear! I advise you to read Poyet's Wikipedia page
Get a team into the play offs? He didn't bother with that, in his first full season in charge of Brighton they ran away with the title!

Yeah, I meant the Championship mate - hence the comparisons to Johnson, Brown and the others who'd actually, you know, done that. Takes more than winning League One to make a Prem manager.

Fair enough but his record at Brighton is very good and I just feel its only a matter of time before he goes on to a bigger club.
As we all know his team play open attacking football but at the same time have one of the best defences in the Championship! Wouldn't that be nice to watch instead of the boring dross served up to us now?
This is Steve Clarke's first job as a manager and his team are 10 points clear of us so sometimes you have to trust your judgement.

The Seddon being renamed The Jack Walker Stand? Constant references to playing Honved under floodlights being uttered in The Plough?

Needs to prove himself more before he gets a Prem job, there's a touch of Martinez syndrome about him - if it was Kenny Jackett buzzing around the play offs would he be being linked to Prem jobs?

Well Bristol City thought so much of Johnson that they booted him out and he has since had three clubs in three years; Peterborough, Northampton and Yeovil - hardly the best CV for an aspiring manager lol I know what you mean about Poyet. I would have doubts about him too. I suspect the attraction is his defence allied to attacking football. My own choice of a young manager would be Zola if he doesn't get promotion If I was Coates I would park Pulis out in Orlando, bring in a young manager and then call Pulis back to save us if it all went pear shaped
