Shea looked completely out of his depth. Didn't beat his man once.
Worst game I've seen N'Zonzi have in a Stoke shirt.
Walters, say no more, likewise for Shotton too. Cameron was woeful too.
Whelan didn't play too badly, couple of promising runs and some quality cross pitch passes.
On the whole the team, and I say team with a loose sense of the word as we looked anything but a team today, were shocking. This is mostly down to tactics but there's no excuse for the ridiculous amount of passes that fell short today.

Shea looked like he hadn't played a game in months. He hasn't. Enjoyed his shot - showed good technique. My hopes haven't been dampened a jot.
There are no other conclusions. Nothing good in that game whatsoever.

I actually thought Shotton did well , rest fair points but its the system and tactics that are the problem

For me, it was one of the worst first half performances from a team iv seen in a while. Brek Shea looked promising, even though he hasnt played a proper game in a few months and we didnt even look to utilize our wingers(Matty/Shea) when they were on the pitch. Shotton impressed, yet again.

So he had ONE off target shot in near enough 70 minutes of football. He has been brought in as a winger, whose primary role is to drive the ball forward down the wing, beat his man and whip crosses into the box....which I didn't see Shea do once today.
Time will tell, but not promising by today's standards.

A typically awful, witless away performance devoid of ambition.
Didn't string a move together in 90 minutes, and the onlt 2 shots on target were the penalty and the chance Senderos gifted to Crouch.
Abject stuff.
I've had enough.

Wilson and Shea looked as if they hadn't played for months. Shotton wasn't that bad but is always prone to a mistake. Walters was embarrassing. Defense looked solid as always. Some of the corner kicks from Whelan were terrible we definitely missed Matty in that area.

Doesn't stop him from looking out of his depth though does it? Yeah he's been out injured and that may be the reason he didn't look up to it today....still doesn't take away the fact that he looked awful today.

We have possibly 2 of the worst premier league players in Whelan and Walters starting every match so what does anyone expect, throw in the mix a manger that insists on playing players out of position and leaving players of proven ability on the bench or out of the squad completely and you can draw your conclusions before the kick off without waiting an hour. Gouranga.

Conclusion from today, TP has one approach to away games and will never change it regardless of who we play

couple of friendly matches don't replicate premier league match conditions. Shea looked better with Jerome and Jones on the pitch but of course so did Stoke. poor game 34% possession and the TP comment "things didn't fall for us" totally predictable. Shea and Wilson need game time which we knew. Convinced that Jerome and Jones should start. Equally convinced that as TP wont change his "tactic" we need to change him. Basis of evolution is adapt or die.

Well done Tony Pulis another managerial masterstroke of a away game shambles. That 1st half was awful with people playing who are out of form and dont warrant a place, square pegs in round holes again to keep your favourites in the side. Its as though we set up not to lose but invariably do. Later on in the game we put our more flair players on but its to late were losing. 1 win in 23 away tells its own story . lnsanity is trying the same thing again and again that has failed. Dont get me started on Whelan, Walters,if i never see a Stoke player again with a surname starting in W it would be to soon. JUST GO PULIS because if the crowd give up on you then thats your home form gone.

Wilson & Shea haven't played for months and you could tell.
Thought Shotton did okay, he's picked up his game this season.
N'Zonzi was atrocious given his ability.
Walters worked hard but any man & his dog can see he isn't of sufficient quality to play week in week out. I don't slate him like some on here, he works his bollox which is all you can ask for. It's not his fault he isn't good enough yet the manager persists with him.
Whelan was good, contender for mom.
Crouch couldn't do anything given how isolated he was, he doesn't possess the tools to flourish in his current role. Again this was a flaw of the management.
Cameron was given a strange role, worked hard without to much success.
Bego was superb.
Yet another away game thrown by Pulis, I can't understand the lunacy of our travelling supports. Hats off to em though, they were loud despite the turgid performance.

You do know that he hasn't played a competitive game for 15 months don't you? Doesn't stop him from looking out of his depth though does it? I would say that it would seriously hamper his match performance, which is probably why he looked "out of his depth" today..

Walters and Whelan should be shifted off the the Championship with another club, before they end up dragging Stoke there.

Shotton gets beaten by his man to easily, I don't buy this Jerome is an sub impact player shit, because it's not about him but how the team plays when we have two up front and play higher up the field, we decide to do that after being 1-0 down after 60 mins into the game. Apart from Drogba I don't know many strikers who can play that isolated role like alone Crouch. Typical gutless team selection away from home to a side who we should not loose to. Walters, garbage, Shea not fit so hard to judge.

No fan of Shotton but he played well. Walters worst player ever, N Zonzi was shocking too ( but he's good most of the time) . Whelan my man of the match.

Team formation just didn't work. Geoff Cameron looked lost and is much better at RB imo. Wilson struggled to regain his match fitness - but he's only going to get it by playing! Brek Sheas appearance probably much earlier than planned - if at all.
Whelan worked very hard. Bego some excellent saves Huth had a good game but did have a rash moment with Senderos.
Crouch needs more support
Jones and Jerome made little impact.
We really are in dire need of a more positive performance next week - I'd like to see Owen and Pennant have a chance.
