10,000 extra hangers on turned up and pretended they had been there through thin and thinner. They hadn't, and now they think they know everything. Ironically I was having a clear out this week and found an old ticket stub for Rotherham 2004 at Millmoor. Somehow I bet they weren't there for that game. If you're on about the 4-0 defeat then yes I was there and so were a shit load of other fans who aren't sucking Pulis off after 1 win in 22 away games. Arrogant "I'm a better fan than you blah blah fucking blah". Why is it so hard to comprehend that the ones voicing their concerns care about the club just as much as you??????? Glad you made it. Oh by the way it's not hard to comprehend it just an opinion on crowd sizes, but it seems like its come across in a condescending way.

Jamo you never went to a game before 2008 and you just made an account on here in 2005 on the off chance that Stoke would ever get into the premiership. Glory hunter ;D You've rumbled me, mate! Take a chill pill Jamo mate. Your opinion is as valid as everyone else's on here. (except Lord Effs )

(except Lord Effs ) I'm chilled mate I just don't think it's a valid argument to suggest that it's only the so called (and I don't like the term) "new" fans that are unhappy. You only have you look in the concourse at half time of nearly every away game to know that isn't true.

I would be happy if we finished 17th.every season,if we didn't spend any money on improving the squad. But we have,so my expectations are now higher than finishing 17th. With what's been spent,is a top 10 finish out of the question?

What gets me is how many people dont seem quite able to grasp that this season (more than any other) nothing else matters other than staying in this league. Whole futures for clubs will be built on the money that comes tumbling in so why on earth cant we have a bit of unity till safety is achieved and a little less prescious whinging about playing styles etc.

Because we like to be proud of OUR club. I am!!!!!!!! Easily pleased then. You are proud of the way we go away and dont try to score? You are proud of the way that we give in when things go against us? You are proud of the way the players hadn't got a clue where they were supposed to be playing after the subs against Wigan?

I don't understand the hostility really.
We're all bothered about Stoke and if people are worried it certainly doesn't make them bad fans.
Conversely if people are deliriously happy then that's their prerogative.

I would have taken 5 seasons of coming 17th what changed? There you have it lads, ambition is a dirty word. We are a good expensively assembled Premier League side that has finished mid table every year and reached a cup final and Europe. This manager deserves all the credit in the world for that. But with success comes expectation and we shown what we're capable of and have the players capable of finishing top half. The idea we should tug out forelocks and be grateful just to be here and stay up at all costs sickens me a little bit at this point.

The idea should be that we keep it all together for the next few months and not break down into the sort of supporter generated internal tail spin that has blighted so many other clubs. Worry about all the other stuff AFTER we are safe !

Last season we were told that safety was what was important and this season without all the extra games we could 'have a go'. Now this season is just about staying up at all costs. What's next season's excuse going to be?

Not being dull as dish-water, perennial low scorers and utterly one dimensional.
