Morning! Don't shoot the messenger, Kemp is just a mouthpiece of the regime. He is to Pulis what Comical Ali was to Saadam Hussein. True. Can't we shoot them both for good measure? Kemp would die of a broken heart anyway, no need to be cruel.

I despair, why havent we explored this before the window even opens, and agreed deals. He says you get more value at the end of a window, what about before it even opens. Im sorry but if he's telling me there was not two full backs suitable for Stoke out there at very reasonable prices he's either not looking hard enough for his own agenda or simply not being straightforward. Getting more value towards the end of the window is bullshit. This because clubs won't sell towards the end of the window, as they can't get replacements themselves. Norwich offered £9.2 mill for Garry Hooper, would that have been value for money, I don't think so. To get really attractive players towards the end of the window, there's two options, either pay over the top to get them (not good value), or you buy from a club in desperate need for cash to manage to stay with head above water for the rest of the season financially (good value).

You know the guy with long hair who scored that champions league hatrick against Man Utd? If I'm not mistaken he was instrumental in Turkey reaching the Euro 2008 semi final. Do you know who I mean? Like I say he was a great player and would surely get us playing better football.

I think we can buy players early, but we need to look in the right leagues.
Just look what Wigan has done over the years, they have found quality players without much competition from bigger clubs. Michu to Swansea, a player we could have signed if we had good scouts.
I think our biggest problem is Tony Pulis and his football, no quality players want to play his type of football. Football from the 80's, it's out dated a long time ago.

Kemp confirms that Shea is ineligible for Arsenal clash
DEADLINE DAY arrival Brek Shea isn’t eligible to make his Stoke City debut against Arsenal this weekend . . . and Dave Kemp has revealed that he isn’t sure as to when supporters can expect to see the American international in action.
The highly rated 22-year-old winger put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal at the Britannia Stadium on Thursday evening, ending a five-year association with Major League Soccer side FC Dallas.
However, having not played a competitive game since picking up a foot injury in August, and still having necessary work permit paperwork to complete back in the United States, Kemp acknowledged that it could still be a number of weeks before he is able to make his Potters bow.
“Brek has been injured for three months, so we can’t expect too much at the present moment, truth be told,” Kemp said at the pre-match press conference.
“He trained yesterday, and he appeared to be ok, but we will need the fitness guys to take a further look at him over the coming days and weeks.
“He needs to be assessed properly, before we can have any idea of how long it will be before he comes into consideration.”
He added: “He wouldn’t be available to us at the moment anyway because he needs to return back to the United States to complete his work permit, and get his passport stamped.
“I’m not sure how long that process will take, but it is the same thing that Geoff had to go through too. Hopefully it won’t be too long.”
Kemp also confirmed that there are no new injury worries to contend with ahead of the clash, and delivered further promising news on the rehabilitation of Republic of Ireland international Marc Wilson.
“Marc is progressing well, but again we have to make sure that we take our time with him and don’t rush him back too quickly,” he added.
“Hopefully we can fit in a reserve team game next week for him, if we feel that it is the right thing for him at that point.
“It’s important not to rush him though, because we don’t want to get him back and then lose him again. It’s important to get it right, because he is a big player for us.”

"If you start doing things that have brought you success, then you will start to leak goals,we'll be working on that" Can someone explain this? I have read it and re-read it, and I can't fathom it out, must be having a thick Friday moment I think he's saying that if you stick with the same tactics for a long period because you believe that they will continue to bring success as they have done in the past, people will inevitably spot holes in them and they will be rendered useless.

According to him that core group is Begovic (25) Ryan (25) Marc Wilson (25) and Nzonzi (23) I'd hardly call aged 23-25 young player, young players to me are 17-22

that's the thing though JSU, just because TP doesn't share his plans with us re: transfers doesn't mean he doesn't have them. the lack of the public awareness may feasibly just be the case that they didn't come off so we didn;t hear about them.
we know TP is very secretive with transfers.look at Butland, a couple of days ago people were talking about him to Chelsea but in reality it turns out he was at ours having a medical that day.no-one knew though until yesterday that we were officially in for him, if it hadn't come off then chances are that no-one would have known full stop
i suppose all i'm saying is that criticising TP with transfers is fine if it's something we KNOW he hasn't done properly, i find it quite hard to criticise him on the premise that he must have done nothing simply because we haven't heard anything

Sorro will be the one who leaves in summer leaving Begovic and Butland to fight it out to be number 1 I wouldn't absolutely rule it out, but I can see both Soro and Begovic going and us buying another keeper as back-up to Butland. He's only young, but with the options he had, I can't see sitting on our bench or being loaned out to the Championship again was in his plans for next year as he tried to get into the World Cup squad? "I like playing football and I don't like sitting on the bench, so it was important for me to go to a club where I can develop my game and hopefully play football in the long run.
"It clicked quite early that their (Stoke's) plans for me ticked all the right boxes and so it wasn't a difficult decision to make."

How depressing is it to see the majority of the posts in this thread spewing the usual bile and far too often it is from a totally unrealistic position. NOT a case of everyone realising that daft fees were being demanded for sub standard players; NOT a celebration that we have got someone who could continue the line of superb Stoke Goalkeepers; NOT an endorsement of us working within our means. And so on.
All the moaners do is to put forward their own utter conjecture and their misplaced ideas of who should play where. Granted our game is not all it should be right now but ask a Villa or a QPR fan if they would swap with us.
I'm with MMLove Child on this one. I will be the first to counsel spending if we finish below 12th again come the end of the season but for C's sake, get a grip and just let P and K (who are far from the idiots some would like to portray them as) get on with the job.
By the way, what's happened to Gerry Francis on match day? Might have missed something. Is he still around?

Sorro will be the one who leaves in summer leaving Begovic and Butland to fight it out to be number 1 Butland wouldnt have come to Stoke knowing that our current number 1 would be staying!? You can see Bego leaving in the summer and possibly Sorro leaving Butland as our new number 1 keeper and bringing in back up. If Sorro stays then maybe for a very short while, Butland will be his back up until Sorro decides to go. If Butland rejected Chelsea because he wanted first football. The why would he join us if we said he wouldnt be number 1 here?

OK. Let's say we got in two decent fullbacks and two decent wingers. If they're not going to be put to proper use, then what's the point? How would that improve us? I'm not saying we don't "need" them, only that it wouldn't matter in the long run.
