Well that seals it.
There is no way on this earth that Coates is even thinking - even in the darkest recesses of his mind - about TP going. Just no way after he's been allowed to sign two players - one that definitely won't play this season, and the other that's unlikely to have much of an impact (if at all) this season.
Much that I'm not particularly happy, we have to accept that and move on.

Coates will be delighted to have a fine keeper who will walk straight into his shoes. Shea isnt a lot of money really and is young and pretty highly thought of in the MLS. The fact hes given him very little money tells me hes not as happy as he has been.

Tuesday was an uttter disaster but the anti Pulis mob really need to be careful about what they wish for
maybe he has reached his limit - he's one dimensional, overtly stubborn and frustrating as hell
he has better players but is not presently playing better football
he learns albiet much slower than we would like
reason to have him sacked then ?
Im not sure

Bizarre people think he will be going. There is no chance of him stepping down or Coates sacking him. And rightly so.

Hopefully, it will mean it's 2 players less the new manager has to buy before the start of next season.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if neither of them ever starts a game for stoke city.

Im not sure +1 he took Gillingham for unfair dismissal. He would slaughter us "your honour......we were 10th in the prem and we feel this was reason to sack the manager?" "explain...?" "well we didint have a left back all season...." "Good God!! Yes, I find in favour of the club .... you were right to sack his daft welsh ass" ??? come on!!!

Im not sure I would hate him to be sacked. A quiet word and the submission of his resignation would be much better. I am thankful etc, etc, etc but he's incapable of changing. Snooze and you eventually lose.

It doesn't matter if its Rochdale stoke or man utd. When the fans turn on the manager, there's only one way it will end. Always as been and always will. The coming weeks will show if the majority of fans are behind him or not?

I was told this morning that Pulis and Coates have fell out, Pulis going at the end of the season with Steve Bould taking over.
Took it with a pinch of salt.

You're wasting your time on here mate, some folk are that blind in their faith for Pulis that it also affects their memories where Coates is concerned. You are right though once/if/when the crowd turns there is only ever one outcome.

Coates getting rid of his favourite person in the world and the person he has publically named as the "Best manager Stoke have ever had" and replacing him and entrusting the club's Premiership status with someone who's got no managerial experience other than at youth level? sod the pich of salt mate i'll take a bucket load! if PC and the Coates family DO do that with such an inexperienced coach then they must be crap at making decisions that relate to Stoke as a business and to be fair from what they've shown so far, i don't actually think they are!

The coming weeks will show if the majority of fans are behind him or not? the fans havent turned on him. there isnt mass Ball out / Mills out chanting and there wont be. Some fans have been waiting 6 years for an opportunity like this and will never change, others are upset after recent games but will go quiet if we win a couple of games and its fair to say the majority, even on this board, do not want him sacked even if they are very pissed off. Coates made the right decision before even though it wasnt popular

Wouldn't every manager be fired if the reason is because there might be someone better. If we did sack him the ridicule we'd get from the media and such would be on the same level that Southampton have recieved

Coates simply won't sack Pulis until he has no other option.
Whatever people say about Pulis Out chants, it's never going to reach the anti-Mills, anti-Ball type levels of the past unless we are in seriously bad Villa/QPR type situation.
So in summary, like him, loathe him or tolerate him, Pulis is going to be here for a long time yet.

If we did sack him the ridicule we'd get from the media and such would be on the same level that Southampton have recieved those are not my opinions, these are the reasons that seem to be coming up on each thread. If we did sack Pulis the reaction would be far worse, Adkins had a great job getting Southampton to the premier league but he hadnt achieved anything here, unlike Pulis. Coates is well respected in football and known as one of the few chairmen who really understands the game, if he sacked Pulis it would really damage his reputation.

There was never, not for a single second, any chance of him being sacked.
Plenty of wishful thinking on the Oatcake but as I've said before, it wouldn't even have crossed his mind, Coates loves Pulis, Pulis loves Coates, that's the way it is.
