Gutted about JP being allowed out on loan. Much better bet than Walters or Shotton on the wing and arguably our best crosser of the ball. Any other manager would keep hold of a player with them attributes being a right winger but not Pulis. The mind boggles at Pulis's thinking sometimes it really does. In fairness lots of other managers haven't kept hold him because of disciplinary issues. Wenger, Benitez, Mr Zaragoza ;D

Just remind me again who it was that led us into the Premier League after 23 years in the wilderness, who it was that took us to an FA Cup Final, who it was that led us into Europe, who it is that's made our club part of the elite and respected footballing establishment.
Answers on a postcard please, but the answer certainly isn't the OP.

Ahead of Kites and Matty. Walters is no winger and Shotton, well Im not sure what he's all about If Im being honest.

Lmfao. Clearly not a nice enough kiddie for a tony pulis side. Pendant is the best singer at the club by a country mile.
Poolis strikes again making way for his love child super Jon in the team

Tone, you've wasted yet another quality player. Really really pissed off about this, more so than Tuncay in fact. This Barmy, just totally fookin barmy!! Yet we keep Shotton.

I like Pennant when he's in form but I trust TP to make the best decisions for our club. He knows what goes on behind closed doors remember

I'd have thought any criticism of Pulis shouldn't be so much that he fell out with Pennant, and ended up getting rid of him, but more that he ever signed him in the first place. It's not as if any other manager has succeeded in motivating him before.
However he played his part in our run to the Cup final, and a few great wins in that season, so the signing wasn't all bad.

And if Pulis has the hump with him, then the best thing for the club is to sell him and get a replacement. A loan spell will put him in the shop window. Replacements? Lee from Bolton please

I don't know what's happened, if anything, but whatever I totally trust Pulis on this one. He wouldn't have started him against Arsenal if he wasn't giving him a fair crack. We all have seen Pennant have trouble at other clubs and he's had many at ours now. It's probably best for him to go and that's sad to say because I love watching him play. Onwards and upwards.

Quality player on his day, if he turns up for Wolves then they have got a great signing on their hands.

I'm sure there is and we're doing the right thing if there's no way back for Pennant - it's just frustrating that the player we've replaced him with doesn't, so far, seem anywhere near as good. I think Walters has had a decent start so far, maybe not as good as Pennant could be but not doing to badly.

We're back to square one now. Pennant hasn't earned a spot a the starting 11 but we need the option of him.
Walters has earned his spot in the starting 11 but Kightly and Ethers aren't really firing on all cylinders. We need the option of Pennant to freshen things up and god help us if anything happens to any of 3 players mentioned.

I like the way JP plays and was pleased when we signed him because he keeps the ball and doesn't panic and get rid. Apart from the fact that he is a serial troublemaker though he does have a couple of weaknesses as a player, he is not agressive enough and he rarely scores.
It is a matter of balance. Kites and JW haven't got many goals yet but they are are always more likely to score than JP. The same is true of Ethers. We can't afford to have even more players on the pitch who are never going to score a goal.
I hope JP comes good and returns or comes good and we have a saleable asset but would you put your mortgage on him ??

This has nothing to do with JP's ability.
He's had numerous chances and blown them all, at least he'll escape the naked headbuts.

We lost our best winger is a fact. We have to thank him and Crouchie for last season if not we probably struggle to stay in PL. Heis not a good boy probably, but i think Kightly/Walters are not the replacement for Pennant.

Walters out wide? not as good as Pennant Kightly? so far not as good as Pennant is when he had a decent run in the side Ethers? good as each other but both not 100% for the last 12 months
to be honest i'd much rather have Pennant in the squad every week (in fact i'd play him ahead of Kightly or Walters on the wing every week) BUT it's been obvious for a while now that his days here are done (for whatever reasons)whether we like it or not so i accepted it a long time ago as much as i disagreed with it. at least TP has made a sensible decision in actually letting someone take him! my main problem hasn't just been Pennant's exclusion it's the fact that if you're not going to use him then why just keep him on the books for a year doing nothing? if he's not playing anywhere at all then he has no shop window and when TP finally does get rid it would be for a knock down price due to lack of games. at least this way he has a chance to impress and therefore find a new club.
personally i don't buy into this whole "Pennant is evil so good riddance" crap that some write. what he's done is nowhere near as bad as some of the things that players do nowadays but our manager doesn't do disciplining like every other manager; he bears a grduge and refuses to let you near the team to make a point.that's fine for a few weeks but to do it for months on end is daft; it's cutting your nose off to spite your face IMO as it means that less proficient players have to take his position up, he's still getting a wage but no gametime so therefore no-one will buy him off us.it actually harms us far more than it does him (and we already have enough hangers on on the wagebill as it is).
if Tony wants to keep his draconian approach in terms of how he disciplines players and just get rid if they piss him off then fair enough but he needs to act far far quicker than he has and then allow the side to regroup and get used to the new players/style that need to be inocrporated (although this does mean we will forever be resigned to buying lower Premiership level players if TP doesn't learn to handle players egos etc.....just selling them isn't good enough IMHO...whether we like it or not the reality nowadays is that big players and some of the lesser ones have egos and that isn't going to change, he needs to adapt his management style to accept this and learn how to deal with properly and get into the 21st Century)
annoyed he's obviously on his way now because he's a benefit to the side when he's playing well but just relieved that TP has finally done SOMETHING to resolve it...JP needs to sort his attitude out, no doubt about that but TP also needs to sort his disciplinary ideas out and start adapting to what the reality is in football in terms of how players behave rather than trying to force an ideal on people that no longer really exists in football.

wingers at the club ranked in order of ability
1. Pennant 2. Etherington 3. Kightly
Pennant has proved from Day 1 since he has been here that he is the best winger at the club. His performances overall have been to a very high standard. From what other people have posted previously i understand the stats support that theory.
i would have him in the starting 11 every week

Can anyone guess where Walters will be playing for most of the season now? Will make a change from left wing I suppose.
Would like to have seen more of Pennant with players like Adam around him who could play ball in front of him for JP to run onto or into channel down side of him. Linking with Cameron and supply by Adam and NZonzi might have brought out the best in JP.
Goodbye JP.

Tones going for pace down the wings, and JP is the slowest. If we're going to play direct counter attacking football then I don't see JP as first choice.
In terms of wingers ability. I see Ethers ahead of JP when they're both on top form.
JP for me, was a good outlet in that he would go down easy and win us time and set pieces.

JP Claims they haven't fallen out, so I guess we can only deduce that TP simply prefers brown nosers over talented players? I mean he hung on to absolute donkeys for a long long time.

Lets hope he doesn't have a leaving do and drive home...Oh he can't...He's banned... To be honest i'll be glad to see the back of him... Your right. Of course we should send possibly the best winger at the club out on loan. Get a grip FFS! Yes, best talent, but he's also the most out of form weaselly whiny bellend that we have at the club. But all you teenage 'get a grip' girls stick together, right? At the moment Pennant is useless.
