He wsn't exactly startd very often after Christmas last year, was he? Afer the alleged incidents last winter, he was only on the pitch when he had to be. What did he make - about 3-4 league starts this calendar year? TRUE What I don't understand is if JP's off the pitch antics we're as deccribed (curfew braaking e.t.c.) why he hasnt been shown the door already (i.e. in the summer) ? my guess is there have been issues but perhaps not as bad as assumed

What did he make - about 3-4 league starts this calendar year? He's featured in quite a lot of games though FM, it's only this season that he's been totally frozen out. Whilst 20 minutes here and half an hour there aren't great for a player like him, seriously when was the last time you came away from a game saying 'Pennant played well'?

Kightly , Walters, Etherington, the ever more useless Shotton even, higher in the pecking order at our club
Even though we are improving -Pennant not given a run out with the new midfield - not once
Rather - shoved out on loan to wolves
i.e one of our most talented two or three players at the entire club
fucking - and madness - the two most approriate words you could attach to this
and - I despair - I really do - ITS TIMES LIKE THESE, I REALLY JUST WONDER, WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON UNDER THAT FUCKING BASEBALL CAP !

I'm sure there is and we're doing the right thing if there's no way back for Pennant - it's just frustrating that the player we've replaced him with doesn't, so far, seem anywhere near as good.

So we've given Wolves a superior winger on loan to the one we've given them two million quid for. It's living giving paying someone £20k for a Mondeo and then a few months later lending them your Ferrari.

This would have been correct about 18 months ago. Pennant has done nothing to warrant this current outpouring of hero worship for well over a year. Frankly he's been pretty wank when called upon. I wouldn't phrase it like that however it's hard to sqaure his form post cup final with the seemingly set in stone view that he is our best winger I still think Etherington is however his form has mostly been poor to average since the cup final too Agreed.

He really has pissed his career up the wall hasn't he.

Lets hope he doesn't have a leaving do and drive home...Oh he can't...He's banned... To be honest i'll be glad to see the back of him... Really sensible to get rid of a player tha can deliver a ball like no one else at the club. Very foolish comment

He doesn't seem an unpopular presence in the 'group' . Could be wrong, but he doesn't come across as dressing room poison.
He does seems a bit immature for a 29-year-old, but it'd be interesting to know if there ws any more than these 2 big blowouts and alleged curfew breaches.
On the pitch, he does put a Pulis-friendly shift in, just as much as anyone else.

Unfortunately it's the best deal for all parties. Jermaine gets the chance to play a bit of football, Stoke get him out of the way for a bit and Wolves get a fantastic signing (They've obviously done the best).
I just don't get it at all though. I thought Kightly was signed as we needed the competition out wide?

I wonder how he will be treated there, having made a big deal about how gutted he is about leaving Stoke on loan and how much he loves the Stoke fans.

Gutted about JP being allowed out on loan.
Much better bet than Walters or Shotton on the wing and arguably our best crosser of the ball. Any other manager would keep hold of a player with them attributes being a right winger but not Pulis.
The mind boggles at Pulis's thinking sometimes it really does.

Jon has done well of late but I'm still of the opinion we'd be a better team with Pennant and Matty out wide.
It's not as if Walters or Kites are scoring goals or creating that much to justify the other lad's exclusions.
I still think the best utilisation of what we have (had) is:
Bego
Cameron Ryan Huth Wilson Whelan N'Zonzi Adam
Pennant Ethers
Crouch
