In Stoke I presume? There was/is also one in Longton I think. The Stoke one was frequented by some very handy individuals in the late '70s early '80s. Hollybush, Bentilee I will always consider my 'local'. Met quite a few Stokies in the navy, not many would venture in there for a beer when we were on leave Rarely any trouble in there that I saw to be honest, it was frequented by some nutters at times tho'.

Is being 'hard' or 'a nutter' a thing to be reminisced over with rosy nostalgia?
I could understand it if the thread was about really friendly pubs where you're made to feel welcome, but this seems a bit weird.

My parents owned the Clarendon (clock) in longton, 1976-79 before it became Hickorys. Rough as fuck no landlord lasted more than 6 months. My old man Bert found his own way of policing it.
