Agree with the above. I love how people judge Pulis but say we shouldn't judge Palacios. There's obviously not been much improvement in training, and Pulis hasn't seen the desire needed to break through. Palacios hasn't been mentally there for a while now and it's down to him to get it back.

I'm sorry Rob, but do you seriously think that if there was no involvement with Crouch, that we would have gone in for a 28 year old, injured midfielder, who wasn't playing for Spurs at the time, and paid out £7 million for him? Way too much of a coincidence. Pulis was 100% dead set wanting Crouch and Spurs made hay whilst the sun shone. I honestly don't buy it Stan, no. Palacios is TP's dream midfielder on paper and he has a history of taking a punt on crocks. If he was part of the Crouch deal, that would effectively mean we paid in excess of £20m for Crouch when you factor in Palacios' signing on fee and wages. It would also mean one of his team wasting precious time as the window ticked down negotiating an expensive wage for a player the manager didn't want, and having to manage that expensive player who could for all he knew start kicking up a fuss and causing problems when it became clear he wasn't ever getting a game. Sorry mate, it just doesn't make sense to me. Far more likely that it was a punt on a player who on paper should have made a huge difference that just hasn't worked out. Problem is its happened far too often where Pulis has blown big money on players who don't fit in or aren't fit. Remember Tuncay? Jones and Kitson too. The latter in my opinion was a decent player despite what some on here would have you believe.I'm not convinced Crouch was worth the money we spent on the basis we don't play to his strengths.

I can see why he should be sold. For some reason that we will probably never know it just hasn't worked out at Stoke. But what a waste this has turned out to be. I thought last year he would turn out to be our best purchase. How wrong. Best he goes and frees up some wages now though, because it is clear he isn't getting game time. It's a big loss, probably 4 million in fees, 2 million in wages, but it's going to better than selling him next year where we would only be able to recoup probably 1.5-2 million, having spent another years worth of wages.
Sad, but true.

Palacios was not a part of the Crouch deal, can you really see TP saying to the chairman I want Crouch at all costs and if it means signing Palacios as well, so be it? No chance.
Now can you see the chief negotiator at Stoke saying to Pulis Spurs won't sell us Crouch unless we buyPalacios too? No Chance.
Further still, can you see Peter Coates sanctioning that? LMAO... no fucking chance. Pulis wanted Palacios and now he wants rid because his Uncle Peter has turned him into a spoilt little brat.
Play the players YOU have bought Pulis before buying others!

His agent was quoted mentioning Valencia and Ath. Madrid the other week in the Honduran press But it seems very optimistic for a club of that stature to drop 3-4m and £2m-a-year on someone with his recent CV. Not as if Spanish clubs are flush at the moment? But we'll see. Can't see any English teams being in for him, that's for sure... The medical will be interesting as well.. www.diez.hn/Secciones/Legionarios/Jugadores/Wilson-Palacios/Noticias/Wilson-Palacios-podria-irse-a-Liga-de-las-Estrellas#.UCSr0KP-2kBWilson Palacios has three weeks to define his future in Europe before the close of trading on August 31. The Honduran midfielder is wanted by two teams from Spain and, if all goes well in the coming days, could make a change.
Agent Iacoppi Giuliano recognized that there are two clubs in the League of All-Stars in the footsteps of the former Wigan and Tottenham player
"Stoke City does not want to let him go, and for now we are talking to two clubs in Spain ... But it will be difficult (to leave), "admitted the Italian.
The employer would not disclose details of the two Spanish teams with whom he has talked with about Palacios, said only that "are two big clubs, but (for now) he has a three-year contract with Stoke City." 'Diez' is known that they are Valencia and Atletico Madrid.
Palacios output from the "Potters" is complex, and he has earned the confidence of coach Tony Pullis, who has used him as a starter in the preseason games.
"Stoke do not want Wilson to leave," said the Italian.
"Atletico?", We asked Iacoppi: "It seems ... I do not remember (laughs). It is true that there is something to Valencia, "said the businessman.
In closing, the representative made one thing clear: "At this time Wilson Palacios is a player of Stoke City."

We would be taking a big hit on him but with the arrival of Cameron it would seem his chances are reduced even further.
