Palacios has been a great player in the past for Spurs. Clearly, his family problems had a direct impact on his game and a fresh start somewhere was probably the best thing for him and Spurs.
We simply took a gamble. Whether or not it was part of the Crouch deal we will never know but all at Stoke thought we could resurrect his career. It seems to me from what I have seen that Palacios hasnt recovered mentally from his ordeal and this transpires to what we see on the pitch. A bit off the pace, a bit out of the game, not totally committed, whatever you want to call it.
As for needing game time i agree that would help him but this is the Premier League. You cannot carry passengers, certainly not at centre midfield. He would be a weak link and we`d be chasing the game from the start. Im no huge fan of Wheelan and Whitehead but say what you like, theyre damned hard to break through. They may not distribute the ball well when they get it but they are solid enough and do the defensive midfield job well.
I dont blame Pulis for the signing. We were all excited when he did sign. I cant really blame Palacios, its hard to imagine the mental trauma the guys been through. I guess its just one that didnt work out. Sell him on and forget about it.

Personally I think it's time to get shut. He's had over a year now to get back into it. I defy any player not getting fit with pulis's pre season regime. In Palacios's case there is obviously more to it. No doubt hthe issues lie with the terrible incident that happened some time ago.
Yesterday in his brief cameo he looked like he was playing on ice. His legs were going everywhere and he nearly cost us a goal and the match.
I think we just have to cut our losses and recognise that Harry had one over us and move on to pastures new, how much longer can we wait until he might come good?

The one tihng that REALLY gets my goat with the Palacios situation is that it is as clear as day that he needs game time and he needed it last year too - if he was not up to speed for us why the hell did we not let him go out on loan somewhere for a couple of months. If he's still not fit and needs game time let him go to the Championship for a couple of months to regain his sharpness.
We can't afford for him to play in the first team if he's not sharp enough so lets get someone else to get him sharp for us - other clubs do it why not us?

It's really obvious Pullis doesn't rate him, why did we buy him? Scout who works at Stoke said about 3 weeks after he arrived. that he wouldn't make it. Very strange signing.

Thought he was perfect when he came and was even hopeful for this season but it doesn't look like its going to be a happy ending. No Premier club will buy him now - a continental club is our only hope of moving him on.

Im gutted about the Palacios situation, but, if Pulis has no interest in starting him or Palacios has no desire for us we may as well try and cash in while we can. He's too expensive to carry. I still believe Palacios was part of the Crouch deal, shame, but we can't miss what we haven't really had can we?!

This judging on ten minutes here and there in the first two games is ludicrous. I genuinely thought after pre-season, losing weight and giving him the no.8 shirt (yes, I know, Tom Soares) meant we may see progression in our central midfield, which clearly needs improving. Perhaps with a nucleus of Palacios, Cameron, Huddlestone and Whelan it can. Still don't get this 'Palacios is leaving' headline-it's not a fact.

Sorry droz, maybe should have put a question mark on it. Sounds fairly certain on Twitter but I know there is alot of shite on there.
" Sounds like tomorrow will be a busy day trying to sort out Huddy and Dawson and a midfielder leaving. "
" Midfielder is Palacios, his agent has been trying to get him a move all summer. No point in keeping him if he's still not 'ready' to play. "
This has come from a ' reliable ' football writer.

Okay Pickins, fair dos. For the record, it's also clear that the Essex Lion is going to eat the cast of a crappy telly programme and the fans of One Direction and Justin Beiber want to eat each other.

Loses ball but he's not interested in getting it back. I'm not sure of why but he's a liability. Best therefore he goes, maybe Wigan want him back?

The fuck wit who thought it was a good idea to spend £9m on a CF who does not play, £11m on Arisamendi and Palacios who don't play, and £10m on another CF who gets no support and usually fuck all in the way of supply should piss off too.

If he does get sold, I can see there being an Story in papers 'my stoke nightmare' with Palacios sticking the knife into how TP treated him. Something like that could be very damning in our future transfer pursuits as TP does seem to f*ck too many players around (Kitson, Beattie, Tuncay, Jones, Arismendi)... I know some of them had attitude problems (even Palacios was going mad on sun after spending 10 mins waiting to be brought on) but Pulis' arrogance makes things worse... No wonder he's not allowed a big war chest this season, can't be trusted buying big money / big ego players

£7,000,000 pissed up the wall. The 2nd highest transfer fee we've ever paid out and he'll go somewhere for an 'undisclosed fee'. Anyone who thinks he wasn't part of the Crouch deal is deluded.

Anyone who thinks he WAS part of the Crouch deal is deluded. I'm sorry Rob, but do you seriously think that if there was no involvement with Crouch, that we would have gone in for a 28 year old, injured midfielder, who wasn't playing for Spurs at the time, and paid out £7 million for him? Way too much of a coincidence. Pulis was 100% dead set wanting Crouch and Spurs made hay whilst the sun shone.

Palacios is TP's dream midfielder on paper and he has a history of taking a punt on crocks. If he was part of the Crouch deal, that would effectively mean we paid in excess of £20m for Crouch when you factor in Palacios' signing on fee and wages. It would also mean one of his team wasting precious time as the window ticked down negotiating an expensive wage for a player the manager didn't want, and having to manage that expensive player who could for all he knew start kicking up a fuss and causing problems when it became clear he wasn't ever getting a game. Sorry mate, it just doesn't make sense to me. Far more likely that it was a punt on a player who on paper should have made a huge difference that just hasn't worked out.
