Pulis has this thing about "top, top professionals" and seems to think that just having them round the place is enormously beneficial - Owen falls perfectly into that category for him and I expect he'll really want him here.
Yet again he'll worry about quite what to do with him later.

“@agent_NCP: Everton are in the clear and in the last hour of talks with an Englishman, a striker. Not allowed to reveal who. Deal is as good as done.”

How many Michael Owen threads?
So, he's '100% done' coming here and going to Everton. What is he, a schizophrenic?

“@agent_NCP: Everton are in the clear and in the last hour of talks with an Englishman, a striker. Not allowed to reveal who. Deal is as good as done.” What's this guy's track record like? Don't know tbh. Seems conflicting stories hitting twitter “@oddschanger: Michael Owen has NOT signed for Everton. It looks increasingly likely he will join Stoke, who he is 7/1 to join @skybet. #SCFC #EFC”

That Agent on twitter is fairly reliable and they've been saying that Owen is in talks with Everton for a while.

I'd prefer Defoe if he becomes available even though expensive. - less likely however
This time next week who knows who will have moved on?
I'm confident we will add some quality to the squad before the transfer deadline

I really want him to join us. I've got a feeling he'd do very well snatching up the pieces in the box, a real poacher.

Someone has set themselves up for a fall www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2190730/Michael-Owen-talks-Everton.html?ITO=1490Michael Owen is in advanced talks with Everton and is close to joining his boyhood idols on a free transfer. The former Liverpool and England striker, 32, who has also been courted of late by Stoke, must still pass a stringent medical but it suits his wishes to stay in the north-west.
The deal could go through on Monday, ironically on the night his last club Manchester United visit Goodison Park. The signing will be considered controversial in some quarters as Owen’s most prolific spell was with neighbours Liverpool.

It was all on track then pulis met him for lunch and explained the plan...wage decent but not astrnomical, bonus for appearances, bonus for goals, by the way Mick, you'll be at left back. Owen finishes his pasta salad looks aghast and leaves.

www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/aug/18/michael-owen-premier-league"Perhaps the phone will ring in the next two weeks. Stoke could conceivably offer a workplace, provided they can move out some players first. There are people at the club who are not fully convinced Owen would fit in with the Tony Pulis ethos but they did float a possible deal earlier in the summer." "Maybe Everton will come through, as Owen hopes. The alternative is that he cannot get fixed up and, from there, it is difficult to know what happens next. Either way, it would be understandable if Owen is experiencing something this year that he has never known on the first day of the season before: insecurity. There was a time when he was more than a dreamer; he was the dream-maker. Now the party is starting and he is outside, nose pressed against the window, wondering what he is missing." I'd STILL like him here!!
