Said it before, but Jenas would be a good signing for TP. Good athletic player with an eye for goal and at the right age.
Forest are after him but he has said he doesn't want a move to the Championship.
A realistic signing I think.

Theres definitely potential there.
Just wonder has he been a small fish in a big pond too long.
Could he handle the expectation we would have?
Definitely worth a look though.

tis true Dan...3 seasons running I believe we have tried to land Jenas and it would appear that he has done everything possible to avoid joining us...even preferring to go ON LOAN to Villa.
I guess he doesn't find us a particularly appealing prospect! ???

Yer good shout mate! A lot of people give him stick but I've always thought he's an alright player! Works 'ard and like stokiedj said, he's also got an eye for a pass!
He must've played 21 games for England for a reason? We could probably get him for a bargain-fee if Nottingham bloody Forest is favourites to sign him?

Don`t think he is much better than we have.He won`t work hard and he is too light weight and will go missing for long periods of the game. He`s a bullet we need to dodge IMO

He's one of those players who promised so much when he was at Nottingham Forest and just hasn't delivered his full potential since then. Saying that he's managed to play over 250 games in the premier league so he must have played well for most of those.
Who would he replace, would he be that different to Whelan?
Next season I expect our four main centre midfielders to be - Whelan 28, Whitehead 30, Palacios 27 and Delap at 36, the average age there is 30. Whilst Jenas could be a good signing, he is unlikely to make us self sufficient, I struggle to see how we could sell him on for decent money after. Whats worse is signing someone like him as a stop gap could stop the potential progress of players like Arismendi/Ness (although I expect Pulis will do that anyway) and means we have less money to spend in other areas because of higher wages. So whilst he could improve us slightly in performance I'd look for an alternative.

Talk about flogging a dead horse, this horse has died been reincarnated as horse and been flogged to death again in fact flogged so hard he's turned into glue. Arismendi is not cut out for English football and that's being kind. Brighton; under compatriot Gus Poyet, he bombed and ended up out of the matchday squad. Barnsley; ended up out of the matchday squad. Huddersfield; ended up out of the matchday squads and even asked if he could go hone to Uruguay as there was no point in him being there.

Really?! People rate this guy?!
A player who every Spurs fan says would only be good enough for the premiership?
A player which Villa fans said actually reduced their quality when he played?!
Exactly NOT the type of player we need at stoke.
I'd prefer to have 11 Salifs in the staring XI

It's pretty common knowledge that they've turned us down in the past mate. Do you think they've always wanted to play for the mighty Potters? Not what I asked! How do you know they turned us down because they thought they were too good for us? Well clearly they had the option to join and our club was not up to scratch in some way, whether it be wages or whatever. That would suggest that they thought wherever they were or were going to was better than us. Jermaine Pennant obviously thought Portsmouth were better than Stoke. You can't rule out signing a player because they've turned you down in the past or because they think they're too good for us. I'm sure when Peter Crouch was playing in the CL for Spurs not so long ago that he thought he was far too good for us. In fact he probably thought he was too good for us almost that entire summer transfer window before we eventually signed him. If we applied your policy we'd have a squad chocked full of Jon Walters and Rory Delap types

My original point was that if Jenas sees himself as above us then I wouldn't touch him. A squad full of Delaps and Walters would be terrible. Players who give their all for the club and show great pride in the shirt. That would be the end of us for sure!

A squad full of Delaps and Walters would be passionate and hard working but wreak of mediocrity. Sometimes you have to tolerate the more talented less committed types ala Pennant & Jenas type players who probably do see themselves as above the club but for whatever reason find themselves at the club. I wouldn't turn my nose up at Signing Jenas just because he's turned us down thrice already

Jenas was past the point of potential a long time ago. When he came on the scene at Forrest it looked like he has the attributes to be a top quality player. He has turned out to be a very average player. He hasnt played regular football for a long time now and I dont see why at 29 he would be a good signing for us.
