It appears there is no reserve league.
I can understand using player like Tonge in these games hoping to give them some game time so we can loan them out to lower league sides, before finally getting them off our books.
As we are starting a team from scratch in this league and clubs like Man Utd have traditionally had larger squad of quality players in this age bracket. I would not be surprised if we continue using over age players like Nash and others at times until we are in a position to have a stronger team and squad. Getting hammered every week will not help anyone. Time will tell how things develop.

I've been told it was a mutual thing. And then he came back here. He's not the greatest player (his touch is shit) but he scores goals, it'll be interesting to see how he does against blokes because he's practically a bloke himself. Just to see how really good he is. Has he got both goals?

www.stokecityfc.com/news/article/under-21s-well-beaten-329342.aspxLost 3-0 to the Villa. I noticed we're also in the Central Reserve League Cup competition this season as well as this. EDIT- maybe we aren't, our site says we play Morecombe one night and there's says Grimsby and Grimsby's backs that up! Any 18's reports about and their line-up from the weekend?

From the one update I can find, the U-18's beat Villa 2-1. We're doing well! Again, scorers and line ups would be very much appreciated. And if the official site are watching, a match report would be nice, ta! EDIT-Derice Richards scored one and we definitely won. Don't know who got the other. So 2 in 2 for the team and 2 in 2 for Richards.

If any admins are reading this could this thread be pinned like last season? It's always a good read and Bayern keeps it more updated than the official site.

Cheers, much appreciated! We are in the Central League Cup. It will mean we have a minimum of four extra games and more overaged players can play in it. The first game was last night and we beat Morecambe 2-1 with goals from Rossi and Tonge. www.stokecityfc.com/news/article/rossi-looking-ahead-343002.aspxwww.stokecityfc.com/news/article/morecambe-report-341954.aspxAn interview with Rossi and the match report. The U-21's next game is on Monday and is at the Brit. It's against 'Castle who could have Adam Campbell playing for them. He's very highly rated, he's 17 and scored 4 in their 6-4 win over Spurs in this competition.

Well what an enjoyable watch if You exclude the Stoke side from that game!
Newcastle were simply brilliant. Their passing and movement was sublime and we looked like a team of one paced, plodding journeymen.
Our side couldn't touch them except when crogging them when their number 10 was putting his magical feet to good use! ;D And what a player he looked, I don't know if we made him look better than he is but his feet were so quick and he could finish. Bradden Inman according to the team sheet.
Everything came down our left where Michael Clarkson, a central midfielder by trade was playing. Bachmann made some excellent saves but he doesn't like crosses (my issue with him). And although people were whinging about the peno, it looked like one to. He wasn't fouled and he tried to punch the ball and punched their player in the cheek! ;D It never looked like his ball. Great double save off the peno though and our MOM.
Our goal was scored by someone called Roy Odiaka according to the teamsheet.
Kargbo played too.
It ended 5-1 to 'Castle.

Their little number 9 campbell? & number 10 we're an absolute class above! The thing that surprised me the most is I didn't hear our coach say a word all game.

Yeah Campbell was brilliant, his movement and pace caused us all sorts of problems, he's been labelled as the next Rooney apparently.
I didn't notice that but now You mention it he didn't but Beardsley barely did either, did he? Most odd. And the bloke sat up by me just sat their watching the game uttering the odd word to who I think after looking at pics on google, Graham Carr.
