Maybe I'm just of a stronger disposition, but I just don't worry about what Pulis says in the press.
Fergie talks up the opposition before every game and is always talking down United's chances - but they seem to do ok!
What a manager says to the press and what he says in private are two completely different things and there is simply no point whatsoever reading into anyone's comments in the media.
But if Roberto Martinez was manager of Stoke and had made the same comments there'd be no discussion.
There's only a discussion because our team is often so unadventurous under Pulis. However, that has absolutely nothing to do with his comments to the press.

Fergie also does his fair share of talking up his own team.
I'm not overly fussed either Homzy, just an observation more than anything.

I have never understood why people get so uptight at Pulis being Pulis. It's like watching the breakdown of a relationship, "oh why does he have do that..", "does he really have to do this..", "why can't he be more like that swarthy one in the nice shirt..."- just get on with enjoying it or dump the cunt because whinging on and trying to change him is futile.

Alan Pardew: "I think the start is a lot tougher than last year and the end looks tough as well, so we will be hoping to get everything we want done as soon as possible and hopefully before we get in to that opening period."

Up beat and positive although cautious. That is more like it. More to the point, no other team bigged up. H

After being handed the new fixture list – which sees a home game with Spurs before a trip to Chelsea to kick the season off Pardew said: “We will really have to be at the races from the start – and it’s going to be tough for us. He said: “You have Sunderland, Everton and Aston Villa who will come back stronger again. It makes it tougher Good old Mr Positive Pards Or is that same as every other manager Pards and Pulis isn't the unique relic that many make him out to be?

If Pulis had said what Pardew had said (or loads of other managers) it would have been dissected in a negative way. Not because of what he actually said, but because of people's negative opinions about his football.
There's good reason for people to have a negative opinion about his football but it isn't half tiresome how everything Pulis does and says is criticised because of that negative opinion some people have.

I couldn't agree more if so and would happily have that debate with anyone, but I'm sure you know as well as I do that what Pulis has said to the Sentinel means absolutely FA.

What it means to me is that he likes being the underdog and that is how he likes to portray us. Unfortunately it rubs off in his football aswell. H
