Will Martinez get the sack if Wigan are bottom again?

If you listen closely, you can actually hear some of the posters on this thread crossing their fingers when they read the phrase, 'If we are in bottom 3 come dec'

Will Martinez get the sack if Wigan are bottom again? He would probably be awarded manager of the year for sticking to his footballing principles despite being relegated...

No, but if relegated yes. Seriously? That was accidental? Seems odd after me posting déjà vu smack in middle of the two posts. Crazy matrix shit going down!

Admin have you given anymore consideration to a pinned thread for 'Should Pulis go' threads. It's always the same question and nearly always revolves around December.
We have one of these almost weekly. Be easier for people if we could keep it all in one place perhaps? Just a thought..

I think a poll has been done but people don't seem to look at them much.

No. Nobody else in the whole world can do what Pulis has done at Stoke. The man can do absolutely no wrong and must be given the right to get us relegated if that is what happens. No use in sacking him then either as he is the only man in the world who can utilise those players. So in short no

Talking of managers, I'm surprised there hasn't been more mention of the stories that Redknapp was sacked for touting himself to Chelsea, Liverpool and Villa. Football is a very strange business at times. news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16246963

dont want him sacked...............but why doesnt he just resign and take kempy with him,i've purchased my season tickets but when i heard him after the torch bearing day "its an honour for the coates family, peter, denise and john" i felt physically sick.next season we'll still have a £5 million midfielder at left back a championship midfield instead of arismendi and palacious and a ponderous forward line and much more of......work AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD,go on john, working class area, got to realise where we are and of course the coates family.Just go!!!

I'm sorry, but this is quite possibly one of the most pathetic threads to appear on this board in a long time. "if we're bottom by December" Christ almighty the season hasn't even started yet! Pre-season hasn't even started yet! I do despair at this board at times

No not after seeing what happened at Wolves. I just hope Tone will recognise when certain selections like Shotton on the wing aren't working.

anywhere that is not connected with stoke city fc,the minute he opens his mouth i cringe, the last straw was bigging up southampton. The game has moved on from the likes of pulis and his brand of football even pub teams have moved on from what we watch.4 years in the prem is enough we will NOT move forward with him.

Depends what he produces by pre season. I'm as excited about our new acquisitions as i am about having Reading Away, first game, and Soton, away last.
Wish we could fast forward to next May, i'm pissed off already!

Out of interest what do you mean by "move forward"? Do you mean in terms of football or our league position? Whilst I recognise that our football needs to improve on that served to us last season I find it very difficult to see how much further this club can move up the league. I don't honestly think that, without massive financial investment, that Stoke will ever be able to challenge for the top 8 or 9 spots. I'm afraid that we are an average Premier League club and safe mid-table mediocrity is the best that we can achieve.

Catch twenty two. If you want to change your manager when you are in relegation trouble then who's top of your list to get out of it - Tony Pulis.
