The footballing point of the Kenwyne departure will be it's either Crouchy or Jones not both,it was horrific seeing them in the same side Vs Everton.Jones ego is bigger than the club he is at and will always be behind Crouchy when it comes to team selection.

It's ok to lose money on signings if you get the best of their playing days. For instance, were we to sell Huth for less than £6 Million (which I sincerely hope we won't) we will have had a few very good years out of him and any loss would be more than compensated by the service received from him. He's a bad example mind you because I think he's worth more now than when we signed him but the point is no less valid. Sadly, we overpaid for KJ and we were warned so by the Sunderland fans. The lad has talent but is (IMO) an under-achiever and should we get anything like our money back we should be very happy (IMO). Hard to place too much criticism at Pulis's door IMO because he looked to be a perfect 'Stoke' player approaching his best years. He'll have good days (maybe some VERY good days) but will always disappoint in the long term. Not really a BAD signing, more just a signing that didn't quite 'come off'.

and so was I... By the way a 27 year old striker should be a the peak of his career. Trying not to be patronising ;D And anyone signing him now on a 4 year contract knows he'll be 31/32 when his contract expires. So they're not going to pay top dollar are they? We bought him at his peak value in his career. If you want to make money on a player you have to buy younger than Kenwyne was when we bought him We paid top dollar for Peter Crouch. Spurs seemed to have managed to turn a profit on an older player than Jones. Jones was a major part of our best Premiership strike force. He was badly managed last season, but he remains, with Shawcross, Huth and Begovic, one of our few saleable assets.

Think we owe another 4m to Sunderland for Jones, assuming 4 payments of 2m each over 4 years. We owe nothing unless clauses are triggered. No sign of them being triggered. It's good of Sunderland to still pay a big chunk of KJ's wages - why let him go?

Pulis stated, when we signed Jones that the club hadn't "gone out on a limb" to sign him as we were paying the £8 Million fee at £2 Million per year. That means we still owe Sunderland £4 Million.

Kenwyne as much as I think he gets some unfair stick on here has had one ok season and spent the following one on the bench. Hard to argue he's done anything other than depreciate in value.

I may have this wrong March and you usually know more than I do but I quite clearly recall Pulis's statement at the time and the £8 Million quoted at the time was a very big drop on the price quoted for him several times previous to that. I very much doubt that we will have reached an agreement with Sunderland for much less than the £8 Million stated.

I only know what Tonarme told me and everything else he said has turned out to be true. The deal was structured over a number of years, but unless my memory has gone awol (quite possible) then those further payments are dependent on other factors.

Fair do's mate. As I say..........I don't know the ins and outs other than what Pulis stated when we signed him (he has been known to tell slight untruths at times )

He'll do the same to West Ham as he did to us, start well then give up. If we get £5 mil we should take their hand off.

Bit shocked to hear a rumour today from a 'media' source that we are selling KJ to West Ham for £2million!!!! Bad business on Stokes part?? But Stoke want him out, big time, as hes a 'bad appple'?? Whatever that means?? Dont shoot the messenger!!

Another transfer debacle if we so add it to tuncay, kitson, arismendi , palacios, olifinjani, tonge, soares,Davies, jerome, collins mind boggling short sighted and without any hint of transfer strategy being in place .

Could it be that we've agreed to pay S'land £2m a year for as long as we keep him, up to £8m? Therefore we've paid £4m and decided enough's enough? Never heard of that kind of deal before but it would be quite clever...?
EDIT: based on rumour, conjecture, speculation and hearsay. Almost certainly not true.
