Odds range from 2/5 (skybet) to 2/1 (William Hill and others), and as they say 'where there's smoke' etc

maybe he can sit next to woodgate ...and Jerome, Palacios, Upson, and who knows, maybe another couple of our summer signings?

I presume that's on the back of our previous interest and Uncle Peter's comments in the press. I'd sign him, great impact sub who is happy to sign a pay as you play. The issue is whether Tone could resist the urge to play him just because he's Michael Owen regardless of how he'd play. The only thing that surprises me is the indignation of some given the money we've spunked on far worse players in recent times. For example, I think he's far less of a risk than Woodgate.

As a free agent I'd much prefer Ivan Klasnic but I do think Owen would be ok too as TP seems to get the most out of players in the twilight of their careers other than a "kiddie"

It's because he doesn't obviously fit into either of the two rigidly inflexible striking roles Jamo. Any striker under 6 foot in a TP side has ended up on the wing or out of the side. Both strikers have to be big, strong and capable of winning it in the air. The line leading striker ideally has to have pace and be able to create their own chances. We have no room for a pure poacher because we don't create enough chances. Factor in his injuries and big time Charlie attitude and it's hard to make a case for him.

I know what your'e saying, Rob but I still think he'd be a very useful Plan B and someone to turn to if we are chasing a goal. Clearly he doesn't fit in to our style but that hasn't stopped us signing plenty of others. He's only on about £20k plus bonuses at the Shit by all accounts. I think he's worth the risk both for footballing and commercial reasons.

We don't do plan bs so we'd in effect just be hoofing it up to a little un.

The very daring and un-Tone like 433 has given me some hope. I just think a poacher could sniff a few goals a season out just by being in and around the box. We have created chances this year but other than Crouch the lads haven't taken them.

We've created less chances than anybody Jamo. And by a distance as well. No team in any of the top leagues in Europe has created fewer. Here's hoping we do evolve but not holding my breath!

Don't get me wrong we create sweet Jack Shit compared to most which is why it's vital to have someone who is a more natural finisher in the team to compliment Crouch. He's the only one capable of sniffing out a chance and if it doesn't fall to him we're fucked.

Is Owen really a big time Charlie? He seems pretty level headed and grounded to me. Or is it just an additional snipe at a player you don't rate?

It'd prove the numpties on here that support Mr Clueless know sweet F.A about football saying give him one more season etc etc, when really now is the perfect time to part with him as a load are out of contract. And after all iss done the sun would still come up the next day, but Pulis would be gone.

All these emptying squad players places will be filled with Pulis "types" by the end of next season then the clueless people will be saying Pulis is the only man who can do a job with the players we have tied up in contracts. LOL ROFLMFAO etc etc

You'd see the club lose ten of millions and have little scope of making an immediate return to the PL; just so you could say 'I told you so!' Sort your life out.
