You could not make it up....Pulis says in the Sentinel, you know what i think about Huth i pick him every week....well what happened at the start of the season when you left him out and him being player of the year and weighing in with nine goals the previous season, then when he did get in he was hung out to dry at right back.....i dare bet there isn,t a supporter on here who would have split up Huth and Shawcross....but not our Tony..he knows best.thats the kind of decision that gets enforced when you surround yourself with yes men...and then he goes on to say, when he joined us he had a dodgy ankle...we took a chance with him and alot of people said not to.....who was that Tony our medical staff!!!!!!!we paid £5 million and we took a chance.....liar and a hypocrite...some of the things he comes out with are just incredible........

Oh dear. Someone let his agenda out? Huth played 44 games in 3 seasons at Middlesbro', which rather suggests that either he was suspended rather a lot or that he missed a lot of games due to injury.

I don't follow your point. For the first third of the sdeason Tone dropped Huth to the bench to accommodate Woodgate or at best, played him at right back to accommodate Woodgate, Huth was neither injured or suspended - he was still our player of the season mind.

Great post bowerboy.
Pulis thinks everyone is forgetful on here apart from the rimmers who see no wrong.
The only bloke in the world who would break up the two best centre back pairing outside the top four would be Pulis and we all simply ask Why???
Thats the best quote though 'we took a gamble on him because of a dodgy ankle......!!! Is this bloke actually saying this in public after the Ba DISASTER!!!
The biggest liar hypocrite in the world.

But if we could get insurance on Huth and not Ba then that would explain it would it not? I don't have facts about it which is why i don't complain as if i do. I assume you know all the ins and outs about the insurance of all players with injuries so plaease enlighten us.

£5m I think. Although some might say £10m with a free Tuncay shaped gift. I'm not so sure about that theory though.

And you don't think the OP has a not very hidden agenda? . "...and then he goes on to say, when he joined us he had a dodgy ankle...we took a chance with him and alot of people said not to.....who was that Tony our medical staff!!!!!!!we paid £5 million and we took a chance.....liar and a hypocrite..." My response addresses that point. Plus, if you read TP's comments I don't think he mentions playing him in his best position, just playing him. Huth has made the 4th most appearances for the team and (if you ignore the 3 games where he was suspended) has played 26 of the other 29 League games. p.s. Yes I would play Huth at centre half every week. p.p.s. I am also a bloody slow typist! ;D

I don't want to slag Pulis off but he was the one who quoted Abraham Lincoln when Wenger was yabbering on:
"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."
There is a lot of stuff our manager comes out with that whilst not lying as such, is distorting the truth to the extent you get the impression he's happy to deceive supporters and treat them like idiots. None of us are good enough to manage a football team at a high level but we're not idiots.
The worst one for me was surrounding his team selection in Valencia where he told the media to decide if we'd taken a strong team or not, and then apparently couldn't understand what everyone was complaining about because the team he picked for the second leg performed better than the one that played at the Brit.
He's intelligent, forthright and strong-willed, and has done a tremendous job for Stoke City based on these personality traits, but it's very hard to like the guy when he comes out with stuff like that.

Pulis comes out with loads of bollocks if you ask me, but I'm not sure this is one of those times. I couldn't really give a fuck what the man says really though and I don't understand these people who analyse his every last word and go off on one at every perceived incorrect statement.
I find it a little tragic.

We can play it though and have previously last season but then then he has to balls everyrhing up again and goes back to the horrible dross we have seen alot this season.
he takes the piss so i don't like him for it because there is no need to chop change and play dogshit football.
What did he go spain for???? it was to fool people like you who think he's going to bring some real spanish creativity in say a 20 year old......yeah ok Tone!!!
I SUPPORT STOKE CITY NOT ROLAND RAT!!!

My biggest issue with Tone is that he does come across as patronising.
Surely even Huth can't take a statement like that seriously, unless he thinks that he was so important in Tones eyes that he Tone even played him at RB whilst getting Woody and Upson match fit.
That's the only way I can see Huth agreeing with this.

I reckon if we played entertaining stuff every week you'd be banging on about what a cracking bloke he is and how all that stuff he does for charity is just spiffing. But the fact we are quite boring (something I'm not actually arguing with here somehow means he is evil. Sorry, I don't think like that. He's just some bloke with his own set of oddities. "The only people I answer to are the Coates family." He at least needs to make us think he respects our opinion because without us there'd be no Stoke City FC. Like I say though, this kind of rhetoric is part of what makes him successful as a manager. I'd like him as a man more if we played decent football because that would mean his entire personality was different. The two aren't mutually exclusive. But then we might not even be in the Premier League.

Liking him or not is one thing... some people seem to think he is the devil though. I'm fairly(??) certain he's not and I'm fairly certain a lot of stuff said about him is completely unjust. I Do get bored at times with this forum. Yes, we don't play like Barcelona, real Madrid or Milan but we are in the premier league and signing players for millions of pounds , something I could have only dreampt of several years ago. TP probably won't be representing the UN but he's achieved something that our past 10/15 managers couldnt . long live the king.
