Grand national this weekend. Any decent tips anyone? The missus works in the bookies and keeps coming home with tips from the various ITK bullshitters in there. I think the one she went with last year fucking died or something I will be picking up a slip later and sticking a pin in it ;D

Really fancy Shakalakaboomboom. How can you bet against a horse called that ;D
From Nicky Hendersons stable, only thing he's missing is a national win. And got Barry Geraghty onboard. 20/1 at Coral. Worth a few quid e/w.

I like to think I know a thing or two about horses..I've had quite a few Derby winners in the past (not literally) but every horse I back in the National falls at the first fence..if not before Avoid anything with silly names..they never win

Sod the Grand National- You want to be on Hunt Ball in the 15:05 at Aintree tomorrow. Currently going at 6/1 on betfair. Back it each way it will place so at least you'll get the money back!!
Go with bet365 and if I'm wrong you'll be funding the transfer pot for next season.
You heard it here first!!

GRAND NATIONAL WINNING SYSTEM
Please Remember a System is only as good As the person applying it, It will not be successful if the Person applying the system skips or bends the rules to suit there own needs or selections.
Step One, Qualifiers are Horses with a Racing Post Postmark rating of 145c to 156c inclusive at the start of the current season (i.e., for the 2011 Grand National It will be Postmark ratings at the start of the start of the 2010/2011 NH Season, (I personally now only use Horses rated 150c to 156c inclusive to help cut down on selections, But I have not been using this method long enough to be able to gauge the effect on overall winners, It has given 6 out of 6 over the last 6 years at present. Including Earth Summit who did not have a rating at the start of his Grand National Winning season, When this happens you use the rating from the start of the previous season, Although it does not happen often).
The ratings are easily obtainable from the previous seasons final NH Racing Post statistics or Racing Post formbook, (I personally use the Racing Post Jumpers to follow Book that normally comes out In October). It will also give you a whole host of winners in the coming NH season (Highly Recommended).
Step Two, Eliminate any Horse aged under 8yrs or Over 12 Years, (Do not eliminate 8 and 12year olds they qualify).
Step Three, Eliminate any Horse more than 4lb out of the handicap (i.e. set to carry 10stone but In the Long handicap should only really be carrying 9-9 or less, This information is readily and freely available In any good sports paper on the morning of the Grand National). Also eliminate all runners set to carry more than 10stone l21b. (Those carrying 10-12 do qualify).
Step Four, Eliminate all runners on the morning of the Grand National who are Forecast not to be in the First 8 in the Betting Forecast in any two Newspapers (Sporting or Daily).
By sticking to the runners that qualify using the Four steps shown and backing them each way will over the years show you a Profit and you will on a very regular basis back the Grand National winner.
If you wish to reduce the number of qualifies further you can use the following adjustments. ->
(A) Runners with a Pre season Racing Post rating of 150c to 156c inclusive, (A reduced range from step one).
(B) Eliminate 12 year olds.
(C) Carry 10stone to 10 stone7lbs inclusive, (and not more than 2lb out of the Handicap see step three, i.e. 9-12 qualifies).
By using the adjustments shown in (A) (B) and (C) above will reduce the number of qualifies, But you will also slightly reduce the overall 'success rate, But would still have given you Four out of the Last Six winners.
