If Liverpool don't want to play on that day then that is fair enough, we didn't go through it so who are we to judge. However where I think he is spot on is with the fact that other clubs have not (at least I think not) ever decided not to play on a particular date because it falls on the anniversary. A precedent has been set and therefore Manchester United, Bradford, Rangers etc should be given the option as well.

I can understand why Daglish wants to leave that day clear to be honest. It marks the anniversary of what must've been the worst day of his life, and the start of a week that saw him go to 3,4,5 funerals a day. I don't like Daglish but don't think he deserves slander for wanting to preserve a day which was unimaginable for cuntbags like Jonathan fucking Creek.

Clubs don't give a shit about the fans in most cases and liverpool are using this as publicity stunt IMO. If they were so righteous then what is suarez still doing there.

"Liverpool FC do not play on April 15th."
I've lost all respect for Daglish and Liverpool Football Club

Mmm, whose position do I respect more, a man who has won almost every honour the game can offer, and who as a human being attended dozens of funerals that he needn't have or a cockney pisshead who once attacked a homeless person outside a restaurant? No brainer fuck off Davies!

There is a place for banter and piss taking and to be fair Davies 'feature' was talking in a podcast aimed at Arsenal fans (sad fuckers that they are)
He has clearly behaved like the twat that he is though with some of those extremely insensitive comments. Dont get me wrong - Dalglish is also a tosser and a hypocrite but lets not forget the thousands of people across Merseyside who lost family and friends on a day that I for one will never forget.
Id love to see Davies up a the Brit in a couple of weeks time but doubt he has the bollocks to attend preferring to sit behind his microphone and biting the occasional tramps ear !

what i will never understand is why does Hillsborough always take precedent over any other footballing disasters?
whether 1 fan or 1000 fans die in a football related incident, they are all tragic events. yet liverpool seem to always get preferential treatment with regards to anything to do with that day.......like Alan Davies said, do they not play on the anniversary of Heysel?
they always bang on about the justice for the 96....well in my eyes, the greatest justice they could give them all these years later is to let the poor sods rest in peace.
i know that if i was attached to the day in any sort of way......its what i'd want now.

Agree about Dalgliesh being a dick in interviews, but Davies has once again shown himself to be a class-A prick. Regardless of whether you agree with it or not, choosing to "rant" about something like this just shows himself up as a myopic, classless fool, much like his team's manager.
At least this might bring some publicity for his stupidity, unlike his disgraceful slander of Shawcross a couple of years back

Always the victims eh. Like he says do they have a day of for all the deaths they caused at Heysel? Do they fuck. Time to move on like all other clubs have when they have had tragedies.

I agree with him, I also cringed that they had a minutes silence because it was the last home game before the anniversary?
I understand it was a disaster, but thats a bit over the top

The thing is, it's acceptable to prevent football after the 10th 50th or whatever anniversary. But you don't put everything on hold for a day every single year. why can't they just have a minutes silence before that match? To me gathering lots of liverpool fans together to mourn as one is far more respectful than simply using it as a day off.

Go out the way to actually listen to what he said before you read that piece of shit website, Yet again peoples reaction to something which has CLEARLY been taken out of context is amazing off some people on here, so gullible to what is published before you rather than going out the way to reading into it. Its Rather much like the Pennant comment's on twitter which the media clearly took out of context to stir the pot and unsettle. He's right, its a stupid thing for Liverpool FC to come out and say, Yes everyone know's it was the biggest footballing tragedy to happen in our lifetime but United don't go out and say this on the day of the Munich disaster. Its a ridiculous statement to come out and say. Adds more controversy to the shit season that Liverpool have had.

Jesus wept he's actually getting death threats, the annoying thing is that most of the idiots dishing it will have only read the select quotes. He doesn't say anything wrong in my opinion and the people who are giving death threats are just as bad as someone who laughs at the disaster itself.
