Just on Sunday Supplement. Saying its a no brainer Crouchy must go to the Euros. They often talk bollox but they have got this one right.

It is an absolute no-brainer. Not even a debate to be had really, is there?
Woolnough's opinion is bizarre. He really hates him.

You just have to assess the alternatives to realise that it is a complete no brainer. It's not even worthy of debate.

That programme needs to be fucking banned. This is probably one of the only things that they've got right so far.

Crouch's inclusion should be a total shoe-in given his record and the players available. I said in a thread yesterday that Crouch should be our point man in a front three even when Rooney is back from his ban.

Correct sheik, with englands two main strikers injured/ suspended find me four better options than someone who has the experience, the goals ratio that crouchy has.
He has to go by default alone.

We're in a win win situation, if he goes then he thoroughly deserves it and great for him, and if he doesn't go we get a fresh crouchy for next season

A narrow three in midfield with Crouch as a point man and then perm two from four with (when fit) Matty, JP, Ric and Jerome vying for the wide front roles.

i was discussing this after the goal and trying to figure out who we should take in the squad for up front
i'm guessing 4 strikers plus rooney
dont see bent getting fit by then so who are the other 4
for me its
Crouch, Wellbeck, Sturridge and probably defoe
i'd say at the moment crouch is easily in the best form of that group

If Crouchy gets back into the England squad it may well pave the way for more England fringe players or up and coming English players to take us more seriously as a club worth joining.

Getting in the journalists squad is a must for Crouchy if the FA appoint a 'yes' man in the shape of Pearce/Hodgson. If Redknapp gets it he has nothing to fear.

Definitely - as mentioned earlier in one respect he would probably benefit from a rest over the summer, but it would be good for him and the profile of the club if he gets selected.

I am always very proud when one of our players gets picked for their country, and even more so when its England. Its been a very long time since it happened and I still have never got over Huddy only getting 2 caps...thanks don Feckin Revie! It will also ditch the myth that if someone moves to Stoke and they play well your England career can continue/reignite. My only concern is if wanker Pearce gets the job and is allowed free rein on squad selection...you just know he will choose some left field bizarre option. P.s Anyone know if there is a vid of the huddy v germany game in 1975 out there?..Roots where are you?

Let's face it - we're all biased but it really is literally a no-brainer. Even disregarding the options, he's got a goal in two for his country and he's scored 13 for the "lowest scoring team in the league" (Including 5 in his last 8?) He's 6ft 7in, a nightmare to mark and as TP says a genuine game changer. Add to all that the fact that the clueless, money-grabbing Italian twat has gone and I think he will finally get the opportunity he deserves?

ah,Hudson's performance v Germany.....no lesser a player than Gunter Netzer described it as the most perfect midfield display he'd seen (or words to that effect! ;D ) If Crouchy gets picked i might actually start taking an interest in England games again.Shawcross should be nailed on for a place in at least the Olympic squad (as an overage player?) if not the full squad.

Crouch should go purely because he offers something different. Our other attacking players, Rooney, Sturridge, Wellbeck, Young, Walcott, Ox-Chambo, all offer something broadly similar. Crouchy would offer a change of gameplan.

How many strikers are expected to go and who is there to choose from really?...Rooney, Crouch, Defoe, Sturridge and Welbeck would do it for me.

If we're taking 4 strikers then one of them should be a target man.
I'd say Rooney, Welbeck and Sturridge are all virtually guaranteed to go and how many other big men are there?
Carroll? He's got potential, but he's woefully devoid of confidence.
Holt? Nah, too ponderous.
I'd definitely take him.

If we take a target man (and we should if only as a game changer) then the three obvious ones are Carroll, Holt and Crouch. Carroll, as said above, is totally devoid of confidence after playing for a poor Liverpool side in a system which deosn't suit him. Holt is a decent goal scorer and I'd take him but for the fact that his over physical style would get him into endless trouble with European refs. That leaves Crouch. Good International scoring record. On good form, great with his feet and getting better with his head - amazing that he should get better at his age, but he has done imho. As well as scoring he's creating chances for others - sadly for us the others are not usually taking them, eg. Walters yesterday. Unlike Carroll he is doing well in a side which doesn't really play to his strengths consistently. He should be a shoo in, but as this is England we are talking about, he probably won't be.

TBH I think England should not only take crouchy but put him in the XI. Crouch As target man, Rooney playing just behind him (after suspension). As for strikers to take, id say aforementioned 2 plus Young and Graham.

If its a temp manager (ie Harry is going back to Spurs) then Crouch is the obvious choice. A long term appointment might see longer term decisions.

Crouch should definitely be in the England squad ipfor the summer.
His size and technical ability means that he offers something completely different than any other English striker. Add to this his previous experience and goals:game ratio for England and it really should be a no-brainer.
He would do a job either from the bench or if started.
