FM - Are you related to Fuller in some way, I mean you arent the only one with a massive love in for Fuller but you really wont have a bad word said about him, its so blinkered its untrue. What needs to happen to show ge isnt this world class, amazing, messi-like player you seen to think he is whi can do no wrong in any part of his game? Haha ;D Just genuinely think he's a total class act, always have done, right from his Preston days. And he did it consistently for us. Week-in and week-out for 3-4 years. This 'lazy' bollocks really gets my back up - but, again, it's a game of opinions He was the single biggest reason we achieved our first 2 milestones for 40 years - getting up and staying up. He came along at the perfect time and gave us a critical shot in the arm and gave us our first properly iconic player for nearly 20 years. If that doesn't make him a modern day legend and cut him a bit of slack, what will? I'm just amazed that the opinion isn't universal - but appreciate the gushing over him must irritate if it's an opinion you don't share. But that's the way of the world. Watching him perform, often as the only thing worth watching on any given Saturday afternoon at the Brit, has been the cherry on top of this last amazing 5-6 years for me. Jerome is just not in the same class. And Jones, even when on his game (which is nowhere near often enough) just doesn't get the juices going in the same way

Still don't agree mate. Neither player you mention have anywhere near the ability Ric has. None are great goalscorers but only Ric can run with the ball at pace and score wonderful goals as well having the will to win that our number 10 has. Did you go Wolves away last season? Think it was last seaosn, Jones' first game, OK he hit the crossbar, but a cm lower....He would have picked the ball up, ran at it with pace and scored a wonder goal....he has got it in his locker He's done it once in what, 50 appearances? That was one of the few times when KJ was direct. If he could be arsed he'd be a very good asset. Sadly he can't most Saturday's.

FM,
cant disagree with anything you said there. My point is.... its tine to let him go bow.... cus IMO he isnt prem.class no more. Id rather see him go.now with loads of good memories rather than him stay his form, tempermant etc to dip and all the good memories get blinkered by the bad things that may
happen late on hos career at Stoke if that makes sense
Jamo, what you say is true about Jones and it dissapoints me so much...because he as got so much potential

Has he actually fully recovered from the Villa Park injury yet? Just because he doesn't seem fit and firing (based on what, a few sub appearances and the Mestalla?) doesn't mean he's quite for the knackers yard yet.

Legend status is achieved through more than what a player does on the pitch, albeit that's a major factor. Besides his 40 odd goals from 170 ish games for us he played 53 times for Jamaica scoring 6. He was TP's right hand man in the dressing room for sorting out any 'ripples'. Arrested following an nightclub brawl at the JFK up Hanley at 1 am. Slapped Griff at West Ham - mind you ...... Driving his BMW 650i on a dodgy Jamaican licence! - after which he drove around with a fcuking L plate on it. Grabbed a Spurs supporter by the neck who was giving him the verbals in Apr 2011. An off the ball kick at Barton that wasn't caught by the cameras. Ric was pelted with lighters & coins away at Besiktas. Always late to training then made his reggae mate late too!! Massively instrumental in our promotion year & then our first 2 1/2 years in the PL One of the most enthusiastically sung songs has always been City's number 10 !! over the last 5-6 years ;D Since his shoulder injuries Ric has struggled & it strikes me he's not a man to take too easily to watching games pass him by. Arrogant with attitude, selfish at times, real skill, pace, great control, blinding runs & some fantastic goals. Ric has loved playing at the Brit & is one of only a few players who has been really able to galvanise the supporters So yes, Ric has earned legend status -not in the way that Banks, Conroy, Smithy, Hudson, Greenhoff etc have - but nonetheless 'a modern day legend'! Thanks Ric

The number of morons saying "thanks Ric...now fuck off" is amazing...........total cretins every single one of you.
After everything he has done for us most of you ate not fit to polish his boots........so what if he got sent off yesterday for being a daft bugger............that's like a £10 charge against someone who is £1000000in credit.
Legend always..........and the cretins rubbishing him after that silly sending off can fuck off back up the Vile or Man U or wherever else you used to be before Stoke got to the Prem......long term Stoke fans you are not. Scum the lot of you.

www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/mar/11/stoke-tony-pulis-ricardo-fuller? "I don't see that as being physical – the word to use is 'stupid'"
"It was a poor reaction. Ricardo has been a great player at the football club, and I mean a great player"
"He is one of the best players we have had in lots of respects. Technically, physically, he is a powerhouse when he plays and I have got a lot of time for him. But if you look at his record, he has got that in him.
"He snaps easily and his reaction off the challenge from Ivanovic just was not acceptable. Straight after the game he was the first to apologise.
"He is a great lad, a lovely man, and I have got a lot of time for him. But what he did today was unacceptable and there is no hiding from the fact he should not have done it."

That pretty much signals the end for Ricardo doesn't it? TP could've said all that after the incident at West Ham, but he needed him then. He obviously feels he doesn't now.

One start in God knows how long indicates that even more clearly than these words dave. It's also why Ric is so daft for reacting. It's a real shame.

Good player on his day, but he's never been a legend in my eyes. Legends don't dive.
I agree with A-Teen. Fuller is a cult hero - not a legend

It's all semantics - but , for me, a 'cult hero' is a Georgie Berry or a Fat Tony Kelly.
Not someone who has had the effect over a long period of time that Fuller has

Fuller was just a 'good player on his day' and a 'cult hero.' Funny as fuck that is.
Hilarious. His consistency over the last 3 years prior to this was outstanding, every game he was a real handful.
He scores a great goal probably once or twice a season, but he had a great game more or less every time he pulled on a Stoke shirt.
Read my blog in the siggy for all my thoughts, think on a subject like this it's impossible to get anywhere debating on a forum, people have their views.
Even if some of them are complete shit.

I still think he is under rated. Tell me another player with his mix of strength, pace and trickery. Somebody asked me how good Messi was and they laughed when I compared him to Ric in his pomp. When they finished laughing, I revised my comment. I said Messi doesn't have Ric's strength - the little Argentinian is a kind of Fuller-Lite.
People say Stoke are dull. I've seen rows and rows of people suddenly stand up, kids to long suffering old blokes like me, and why do you think that might be?
Ricardo Fuller has picked up a loose clearance, perhaps just inside his own half, with maybe 4 defenders goalside of him. Those of us who watch him, know that there is a genuine chance of a sensational goal.
If you don't go to games, or you haven't lived through it all, or you're more interested in stats, results and league position, then maybe you won't ever get a player like Ricardo.
But if you love the magic and drama of football, the emotional high of seeing your team of heroes succeed and achieve what seemed impossible, those few seconds of unpredictable brilliance that sets certain players apart, then you will love Ricardo Fuller.
I have had the rare privilege of watching a truly enetertaining footballer. He is more than a cult hero and a legend. Ricardo Fuller is a God.

Stokelad of course Messi is better than Fuller. Acceleration, ball control and goals. He does it consistently and frequently, and has the perfect temperament. He's probably the best player I've ever seen.
But which other players have you seen that can do the same kind of thing as he does? They're few and far between. On his day, Ricardo can create those kind of moments. And we've been lucky enough to watch him play every week.
One plays for Barcelona, one plays for Stoke City. Mmm, wonder which one really is the best? Thank Goodness I've got people like you to keep me right.
And completely miss the point.
