Can't help thinking that age of the respective posters here might just have something to do with the side you take on this issue. I'm guessing that generally speaking, the older guys are less spiteful toward the Vale than the younger elements. Discuss.

PotterLog makes some very good points.
Noone on here has the right to call someone a lesser Stokie if they went there last night. It's the behaviour of the school playground that, and shows Vale-like symptoms of simply destroying without rhyme or reason.
Personally I wouldn't go, but then again as stated before, I have several good Vale mates who follow their team exactly as I have done over the same period of time. Seems that some simply cannot handle banter never mind someone having a real verbal pop at Stoke.
All you need for any durr-brained Vale fans having a pop is a half-decent, funny riposte.
The role of a football supporter is to rub it in during the bad times. hence why we gave plenty of stick out at Old Trafford 2 years ago. It's all a wind-up, and with so mant so easy to wind-up, it obviously works.
But please do not judge anyone's Stoke supporting credentials based on them not wanting Vale to go under. That's simply childish.
End of thread for me before I get told to "f*** off up......"

I wouldn't tell you to 'fuck off up the vale' bunny...it's going to be cold, desolate and lonely soon. How's that for a 35 year olds childish reposte?

Have you got any mates who support them, just wondering?

I'm going for a pint tonight with some mates from work. One of them is a fellow Stoke fan, the other doesn't like football. Going to the Corner Pin in Butt Lane. Hope that's ok with all my crucifiers on here? Should I change my mates? My workplace? The pub I go drinking in? Please let me know as Im being picked up at 9pm. Thanks in advance for whatever you allow me to do, where I go, and, who I go with.

I don't like Port Vale or anything associated with it, i make no apologies for that but i would never berate a fellow fan for either trying to support their cause or associating with the club. Indeed my daughter's childminder is a die hard Vale fan....that's life, you could argue that my money buys her season ticket every year

FFS grow up. This whole ridiculous thing about what they were supposedly like in the 90s is just silly, and embarrassingly small-time. Fans of a Premiership club crying like babies because the rival fans weren't very nice to us in their one season of superiority nearly 20 years ago. Boo hoo hoo. Football fans are all more or less the same. Putting personal hygiene habits aside for a moment, we've got more in common with Vale fans than we have with most other clubs, and if you think we'd have been any different if the shoe was on the other foot you're dreaming. The guy wanted to go and show some support for a local football team which is dying on its arse three divisions below us. Good on him. The only ones who should be hanging their heads in shame are those with such a fookin complex about it. And you live where exactly, you don't have to live and work with the cretinous spunk stains on a daily basis I take it, it is easy to comment from afar is it not!, do you pay your rates to the council that has just thrown them a lifeline they richly do not deserve? No

You clearly don't know many Vale supporters in 2012...their attitude towards us hasn't changed a single bit. Good luck to him for stumping up his hard earned (that will incidently go to the board as they aren't officially in administration until Birmingham High Court declare it on Friday) ....but i wouldn't chuck a pound in a bucket collection for them I wouldn't piss in a bucket for them.

Onevalefan said 'thank you'...the majority of the puddled vale contigent would have given it back if they knew the source, that's a testament as to how mentally subordinate they are, i'll review the posts of 'thanks' the stokies get....shouldn't take long Where is it? I've just been on the hunt and all i can see is that fans were singing 'bury me under the bycars'
