i dont think we will go down ,we will get mid table (top of second half)but i honestly think that the europa league has probably hurt us more than anything this year but we can get use to it

For balance, we currently have more points than Hull did at the same stage and Hull stayed up and the bottom 3 had plenty more points than the current occupants do.

I don't think we'll go down. We'll get our act together I'm sure of it.

The words 'at, straws, clutching' spring to mind What was the position in the season in which Hull went down and in subsequent seasons? There's a;ways one season to prove a statistical point

We won't go down but we wont finish in the top ten either, we have more squad depth this season but we don't have strength in all areas.
One injury or suspension in a certain position and the manager has to shuffle the team around ie "square pegs in round holes", during the course of the season it will come back and bite you on the arse like it's starting to now.

No, but I'm blowing a bit. Think we'll end up south of 10th. Just feel we could do with a rousing performance from the lads to get everyone onboard again. A couple of goals would work wonders!!

The big change this season is the low points total of the bottom clubs.

I don't. I'd like to see a bigger breathing space than last year considering we have spent a tidy sum to ensure its so.

Why are we still comparing ourselves with Blackpool Burnley and Hull, particularly after three and a half years in the Prem and after 'improving' our squad to the tune of £20m in the summer?

and after 'improving' our squad to the tune of £20m in the summer? Good point there, we haven't really improved the squad, we've basically beefed up a strike force that doesn't get much service.

Good point there, we haven't really improved the squad, we've basically beefed up a strike force that doesn't get much service. We have improved the squad, but not really the starting eleven (although Crouch is an upgrade on Kenwyne). Tiredness might've played its part, but IMHO the main reason for the recent slump is exactly the same as when we had that poor run last season, ie. Only playing one of the wingers. We'll turn it around if / when we start playing Matty and JP together. We won't go down.

The next run of games until the end of March will tell us a lot re stay up with comfortable breathing space or nervous times in the run in
Fulham away - on paper they are very good at home and we dont do well there
Swansea at home - big banana skin waiting as it is the end of a crammed 3 game cup run, culminating with Valencia away. Can see them passing us off the park due to our tiredness
Norwich - on paper something to have a damn good go at
Chelsea - the Alamo part 1
Spurs - the Alamo part 2
Man City - the Alamo part 3
Wigan away - never won there
So we could easily come away from that little lot with just 4 points

Someone's already posted something similar today I think... general consensus was we will stay up (a few ranters said otherwise) but that a lot is now hanging on our next two home games.
