Being born in Liverpool and coming from a very large Family who are 99% the red half, in a era when Liverpool ruled the leagues it would have been easy to be sitting in the Kop now, lucky for me the Toxteth riots kicked off and my mum grabbed her young child and fleeded the burning cars and rioters (nothings changed much!) and headed for the bright lights of Stoke. This was where I was introduced to my Stokie uncle and have never looked back, even years of the Scouse lot trying to bend my ear could not take the feeling of finding my home on the Boothen End away.
Cheers Uncle!
1st game, 9th May 1987 v Grimsby 5-1 home win!

Sometime in 1992, I was about 5. We went shopping in Hanley I think, went to the market and saw this lovely yellow football shirt with Fradley Homes written on it.
Tugged on my Dads sleeve and asked him if I could have it (I think it was a £5 or so), He dutifully bought it (it swamped me), as I carried it away in the bag I asked him "Dad, what team is this", he replied, "That's Stoke son" (He's a die-hard Blue-nose).
I replied "Can we go to a match soon please?"
The rest is history.

Dad took me in the late 60s. As soon as I was old enough to go on my own and had the money I went all over the country to watch us. Dont remember there being an instant decision. It was like learning to walk.

Strangely when I watched Aberdeen v a team I can't remember (at a push - United) in a game I have know memory of over Christmas in 1990.
Born in Aberdeen 1980 and auntie took me to watch the Dons between 84-86 and absolutely loved it. Then moved down to Stoke with Michelin and my old man (because mum nagged) wouldn't take me because it was a 'bit different' from Pittodrie (all seater).
Finally got to go in 88 after a war of attrition and was absolutely transfixed with the Boothen End. I sat in the Main Stand watching it's massed ranks more than I watched the football.
When my auntie took me back to Pittodrie on my visit I had a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. Now I realise it felt like I was cheating. From that day Aberdeen were without doubt my second team.

Just found it. !974 league cup 2nd replay, thought it was earlier than that. Interestingly that is their biggest cup defeat in the modern era. They did lose 6-0 to sheff wed in 1913.

For me it was my first game as a 10 year old when my Dad took me to watch our home game with Charlton in the old 2 nd division on the 7 th of September 1957. I've been addicted to supporting Stoke ever since then even though we moved away from Stoke a few months later and I've never lived anywhere near Stoke.

1973 walked around the old Vic with me Dad while on holiday Mayish so no game. Then when I came over in the 84 would go to home games on me todd, My uncle who lived at the top of Bath St , thought that I was puddled. Not a fan that can rattle off all the players, game scores etc, but one that has always supported Stoke, even last week wound up some manure supports over here, and would love to spend another weekend at Wembley last one cost me over 2ooo pounds.

October 19th, 1996. It was Stoke's last season at the Vic, and I was 10 going to my first game. What got me was the Stokies singing Delilah after the game, despite losing 4-0 at home to Sheffield United.
