Apologies, another update from the club (feel free to shit bin if its not useful or you're fed up of these posts).
Hi Tom
We have looked into doing systems like this previously. However, the issue with doing a ‘receipt’ type system is that if you do not ask for a deposit there is obviously no guarantee that this will be converted into a potential sale. If you do a deposit there are certain legal issues surrounding this. We are unable to store card details as we would not be PCI compliant if we did this and couldn’t hold onto cash either. There is also the added administration involved with running a scheme like this when you have to decide whether the ends justify the means. If the question is simply do we need more tickets then I think we already know that this is the case and Valencia have been made well aware of this.
It seems that they were unconcerned about the potential numbers travelling to this game and had similar conversations with both Chelsea and Manchester United. As far as I’m aware they haven’t allocated more than the 2,377 tickets to any other club in Europe and we are obviously in the hands of the home club. They have a similar situation to us in that they have season ticket holders in all areas of the ground and therefore allocating bulk tickets to us (whether that be 500 or 5,000) on top of their away section becomes impractical. I think it’s important to state here that we would not re-locate our season ticket holders to other areas for cup games unless we were obliged to in order to fall in line with competition rules.
We are keen to get the tickets on sale as soon as possible but we never go on sale without having tickets physically at the stadium in case there are any discrepancies and if for any reason we don’t receive them. We requested that the tickets be printed and ready for us when our delegation met with their officials in Spain. However, despite printing their allocation for our fixture on the 16th February for when our officials went to visit, they did not have these ready for us. They said they would send the tickets to us within a certain time frame but as of yet we haven’t received these. As soon as these arrive, we will check the tickets and announce the on sale dates for each priority level.
I hope this clears up your questions but if there is anything else you wish to ask or you would prefer to discuss this on the phone please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards

Thanks WD really glad someone is taking the initiative. It genuinly sounds like Valencia accept the fact that we WILL be bringing a lot more than just the allocated amount.

this is wrong "We are unable to store card details as we would not be PCI compliant if we did this and couldn’t hold onto cash either" PCI compliance allows them to store the card details but not the three digit security number, I deal with PCI compliance every day :\

Hi Tom
The first thing I would say is if you or anyone is unable to get a ticket through ourselves never purchase tickets through an unauthorised ticket seller or ticket tout as they charge well over the odds and there is no guarantee the ticket is genuine. I would always advise supporters to purchase tickets from the club whether that is through the home or away club as that is the only official source.
I completely agree it is a massive occasion for both the supporters and everyone connected with the club. We should all be very proud of what has been achieved so far and the last thing we want is our reputation tarnished in any way. I think the issue here is that when you have a supply that outstrips demand there will always be people disappointed through the normal sales process.
The situation as it stands at the moment is that we are waiting for the tickets to arrive and are chasing with Valencia everyday to ensure they arrive asap. We have been allocated 2377 tickets to sell to our supporters from here and it has been made pretty clear that we won’t receive any more despite our protestations. However, we would certainly not put out a statement advising supporters to purchase tickets in home ends as they are tickets outside of our control.
We understand the frustration for supporters who have spent vast amounts of money on flights and accommodation for this fixture. I can assure you we echo your frustration and are eager to get the tickets on sale. However, whether we receive the tickets in the next few days or not we will hopefully make an official announcement updating supporters of the situation very soon.
Kind Regards

(Whittaker not WD who as far as I know doesn't work for Scholes ) Momo, ffs, the club have made a statement of what the situation is, what do you want them to do, make something up as most on here do? They communicate and are critisised, they don't, they're critisised, they can't bloody win. It's like talking to the Mrs, if you're not telling her what she wants to hear you're infor a bollocking until you come up with the correct answer.

(Whittaker not WD who as far as I know doesn't work for Scholes ) yes because obviously the fact that it has been made clear that the club have chased the tickets on a daily basis and that it is valencia not supllying them is Scholes' fault isn't it??! do you fancy blaming the failing economy and maybe the Costa Concordia on him as well?

mr scholes has clearly done all he can regarding the Valencia tickets and communicated the information correctly. Sadly peoples frustrations are born from some of the crap that is written on here, ala "more derby tickets on there way".

Scholes might have helped his cause if he'd not syphoned off 400 tickets to supporters paying over the odds on the two official flights. Stoke distribute away tickets via a defined structure, ie paid up Plat Plus and Plat members, then Gold. Well that is the process they promote and earn about £100,000 worth of income off.
Scholes comes out of this debacle with no credit whatsoever.
In addition the communication has been the usual Keystone Cops. Any information gained since the initial backtracking announcement has come via email responses to individual irate fans.

Mr scholes, earning the club 100,000. Never mind the sack, he should be castrated. ffs. We're running a business where believe it or not the name of the game is to earn profit.
Without it we could not buy players. Without players we be relegated, with relegation we could get into serious financial problems which in turn could make us into the next Portsmouth etc.
That'd give you something to bitch about eh?

I lost you completely at 'football is a business' I now know what I'm dealing with. Don't be ridiculous. If you don't want to accept that football clubs are business you are living in cuckoo land. SCFC is a business that employs hundreds of local people. They people who work there have a duty to try and make the club profitable. Josh has taken the time to lay out the clubs position and explain what the hold up with tickets is. To call a club employee who is doing his job a "no mark Scholes lickspittle" is unfair and says plenty about you character.

You really cannot grasp that the unique relationship between a football club and its consumers makes any glib comparison with other businesses completely meaningless? You can't see that club have abused this relationship with a massively marked up loyalty auction designed to panic people? You really think that Stoke is a business like IB fucking M? Thicker than a tramps beard some of you. Have you thought of standing for the Supporters Council?

When I explained to him that I was over 1000 kilometres away he said that I could do a much better job than the moaning and whinging people such as Sheikmomo! I guess he has a point!

momo the simple fact is that there isn't a "Unique Relationship" between supporters and the club anymore. The "Club" is a business full stop that is there to make a profit and, as in any successful business,if they lose your support then don't worry (because they won't) as there will be plenty of newcomers willing to take your place in the Boothen and pay the money for a season ticket. you may well have a relationship with the team that go out there and play football week in week out and the management who decide on the goings on that happen on the pitch but that is a TINY part of the "Club". If you genuinely think that there is still a unique relationship between clubs and supporters and cannot see the difference between the club and the team then you really have been left behind in 1952 mate and that isn't being glib it's just a fact and has been for quite some time now, i suggest you catch up a bit rather than living in the post war era as whether you like it or not (and i'm gonna take a guess you don't) it's a reality for everyone not just SCFC and you whinging (constantly!!!!!!) is not going to change that
