twitter.com/#!/John__Percy #Stoke have had "at least" four or five calls from clubs asking about Ben Marshall - and a bid from Sheffield United. #sufc #swfc #scfc isn't he signing a new contract with Stoke and signing for Wednesday? that is the plan. Stoke are absolutely insistent he is not for sale to anyone Is he dragging his feet re signing the contract at Stoke? not yet. talks only just started

I saw a report linking 1.5m Stoke whizzkid Ben Marshall with Huddersfield and Sheff Wed together with a host of other clubs from the Championship.
Surely if he is worth 1.5m he must be worth a back up slot in our squad. Afterall, if you considered Shotton, Rory or Deano to be right wingers, you wouldn't get a combined 1.5m for all 3 of them!
Each have their merits, but not as right wingers.

But, at 20 and with over 100 senior appearances, there's got to be a case for having him in and around our squad from January onwards, when you look at the paucity of our wing resources. Blackburn chucked Hoilett into the fray at precisely his age, last season. And now he's an 8m asset with about the same amount of senior appearances as Marshall.

This is the result of leaving things so late. He may have interest from other Premier League clubs and is waiting for a better offer. Can't blame him, he would probably have seen action at other clubs by now. He has another three years to wait at Stoke.
