At least his contract is sorted but diappointed he's not seen as back up winger for us atm.
Still have doubts we will ever see him in a Stoke City first XI.
Just got to be patient with this and hope he makes the grade.

www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/owls_marshall_stays_on_at_hillsborough_1_4095378“He’s not ready for us at the moment, but given time we think he can make the right sort of progress. He’s impressed us in his time at Stoke. Now it’s up to him to knuckle down and continue improving in the years to come.”
"I’ve been to watch him up there and he’s done smashing for them. I picked Sheffield Wednesday because I have such a good relationship with Gary and I knew he’d be looked after.
“We would like him to stay up there for the rest of the season for two reasons. One is the fact he needs games and he’s getting them with Wednesday. The other is the fact they are going for promotion and I want Ben to experience that.”
“It will be good for his education to play in pressure matches and in front of big crowds with Wednesday.”

Will all the posters on the Oatie who called Pulis a fuckwit for not signing him up on a longer contract before his contract expired next summer, be returning to delete their posts? Possibly, not, I suspect,

Will all the posters on the Oatie who called Pulis a fuckwit for not signing him up on a longer contract before his contract expired next summer, be returning to delete their posts? Possibly, not, I suspect, Nah, they're all too busy calling TP a fuckwit for realising that Marshall isn't quite ready for The Premier League and Europa League yet. I love the fact that people who honestly haven't a clue how good Ben Marshall is and a handful of folk who have only actually seen him in brief appearances in pre-season matches for us are going off second hand reports from a League 1 club for whom he's currently playing for. I'll await someone who sayd "i went to see Wednesday and he was the best player on the pitch" Sheff Wed fans say he's doing well for them and therefore that means he's obviously ready to play in The Premier League for us. Do people not understand anything about football? Ask a stupid question.

I like TP's thinking re him experiencing a promotion challenge.

I actually have seen Marshall play twice for Carlisle and was very impressed with him. I had hoped he might at least spend January with us and get a bit of time on the bench and a bit of pitch time as well. But I too can see where TP is coming from with his comment that being involved in a promotion push will do Marshall no harm. Hopefully he impresses enough in preseason next summer to be given a chance in our first team before a decision is made on a loan for next season.

Possibly, not, I suspect, They would need to call Scholes the fuckwit as its his job to get these things done. Why would people have to apologise for urging the club to get it sorted out? How strange! Great news. Ben has bags of potential and I expect he will be loaned out to a Championship club next. This would be better than no game time on the fringes of our first team and hours of running around looking at the scenery at Clayton Woods. Good prospect. Well done Stoke.

If 'all the posters' didn't actually call him a fuckwit for not signing Marshall on an extended contract, will you be returning to delete this post? Possibly not, I suspect....

Where have I asked anyone to apologise? I simply suggested that anyone who called Pulis a fuckwit for not signing him up should delete their post. Anyone who called Schoes a fuckwit for the same reason (although most blamed Pulis) could also remove their post.

Why would they.
For urging the club to sort it out before the player could talk to other clubs come January.
How strange!

I doubt whether the club have simply waited until the last week of December before doing anything about it. I'd have thought (and I'm sure you agree) that discussions will have been ongoing for weeks, maybe months. I'm not criticising anyone who wanted/hoped the contract would be sorted - we all did, I know I did and from your comments above you did. I'm having a go (in the mildest way possible, because it is the season of goodwill) at those who ASSUMED that Pulis was dragging his feet on the issue (notwithstanding that Scholes does the negotiating) and made their criticism public simply because no announcement had been made before now. Simples!

just remind me what division you are playing in again? No need for that mate, Sheff Wed are a massive club with a great history. They may well be down at the moment but they'll be back no doubt No need to get all "we're premier league and that's all that matters". Well said, lad. Wednesday ARE a massive club, with a great pedigree. Have enjoyed many great games against you in the past, and personally, Wednesday are one of a few teams I would love to see in the Prem. And I love your stadium, was always one of my favorites to visit.

I think T.P is right to leave the lad at Hillsboro' at the moment...he's not quite the finished article, and I doubt he would cut it at Premier league level..I mean twice against Huddersfield the other week he was out of position..and they scored...we had to rely on the f..ookin' keeper...marshall was out wide... Then his crosses for the goals we scored...could have been better.. His arrogance when waltzing around full backs is a bit annoying, he could show a little more humility....and its a bit glitzy ..giving the keeper "the eyes and buryin' it in the opposite bottom corner Its not really the way we have been doing things up here lately...yer average Wednesday wide player...either crosses it over when no f cker is in the area..hits into the top of the kop when someone IS in the area.. ...or tries to nutmeg the linesman while comically fallin' over his own feet. Marshall, at the moment, (and i'll admit he's only young)..is showing none of these attributes.... So all in all...I think another few months down here will help the lad on, and we may return to you a proper footballer.....I'm not promising owt lads..he could just carry on tearing down the line, cuttin' inside and scoring...its hard to beat out of a player that.....but if any club can do it.... we can...

Wasn't there mate to be honest...was working...The lad went down he was fuming when he got home... I was driving home from work with the commentary on...and had to fvckin' pull in...Our lass had already texted to say we had won.... They think it just lasts the 90 minutes... women.... Bloody Wednesday have done it times many...it never seems to happen he other way around. But all in all i'd have settled for being up there at Christmas..and we are.....so head down keep going... I'm of an age where i just live in the moment now...theres no way way i am ever going to see them win owt again...the rules have changed and its all money, but its always been beyond that for me...The Wednesday are simply what I grew up with...what me Grandad took me to see...The whole family used to go Boxing day..home and away..Ive had a season ticket since I was 7 ..and I still get a thrill when i trip down Penistone rd....its a bit pathetic really..... I can fill up, first or last game of the season..when the blue and white stripes trot out..then i spend the interim calling them all the names under the sun... There is (and honestly this is the truth) an old lad who sits in front of me on the Kop..he has done for years..he's about a fckin' 100 yrs old...and when they come out...as all the rest of us stand and clap..he simply says...."Here they fvckin' come.."..and pulls his cap down over his eyes..Thats me in 20 yrs..I know it is...Its like visiting a bloody poorly relative in hospital at the minute....you don't wanna go...but feel you have to..

I don't think Wednesday and Stoke are disimilar to be honest mate...theyre not yer Arsenals and Chelseas...but bloody hell ive been to Stamford Bridge when theres been 14000 in and 3000 from Sheffield..I'm not saying these fans have not the ardour or the passion....some of 'em have...but not 30 odd thousand of 'em..Its a totally different game to what I was brought up on... Clubs are now bankrolled by folk who wouldn't recognise a football fan if he knocked on the door raped the wife an' ran off with the kids... Clubs like City and Sheffield Wednesday were founded on bloody gritty sh*t... I was taken to Hillsborough by me uncles , who had just done a shift in a rolling mill, it was not just the football..it was the whole "this is what we do on Saturday" thing..its stayed with me..I sit at Hillsborough with bloody ghosts..its not whats happening on the pitch..it may be summatt that happened off it...40 bloody years ago when i'd got a gobfull of pie... I know this sounds like maudlin' crap...and I know that i'd be lying if i said i didn't want to go to the Brittannia again..or old Trafford or White hart lane or whatever....but i'm way past that sorta stuff...and sadly ...in my opinion...football is way past that stuff. There are clubs ...'and there are fans... that would not understand a word i was whittering....but i don't believe Stoke fans are amongst them...thats why i whittered it on here
