Frankly;
People have the right to over-react and be majorly pissed off for the next few days. What we witnessed today was inexcusable.
We're no power house away from home and it's no secret that we're generally pretty kind to teams with certain 'problems'. But c'mon. We've just played against a team who were in the bottom 3 (can't remember what position exactly), and have played SIX at home this season without picking up a win. ZERO points. Even Norwhich and Sunderland have turned them over this year. And no, we haven't just lost the game, we've lost FIVE FUCKING NIL.
Y'ano, with this whole PHW vs Rimmers thing, I tend not to pick a side and give my opinion on what I see week in, week out. I guess that's just the type of guy I am, really. But Pulis needs to do the rightful thing now (which is not resign, as some cunters would have you believe) and man up to his piss poor tactics and team selection, and stop rolling off the same fucking excuses every time we are shit.
Clearly a different approach/plan is needed away from home, and playing players out of position or at all (Floodgate) for no apparent reason would obviously help. I guess we've had a lucky break with this international 2 week thingy coming up, in that regard.
But I saw a thread before popping into this one called "Wake up call". Kinda funny really when we've been asleep for the best part of 4 years away from home.

So what if they've paid their money? Did they go thinking 3 points was guaranteed? No. Did they pay because they thought it'd be worth their money? Yes. Would that performance put me off going to a Stoke away match? Not really. FFS, yes fans spend money, well done them.

Yes, they do but you're missing the point. This isn't about questioning our performance, this is about thinking these away performances merit Pulis getting sacked, which is ludicrous. People never seem to look at the good picture.

There are far too many over reactions on here today. Pulis will be smarting and so will the players. Personally I expect us to respond after the international break. Its all about the full season and most teams have a bad patch.
We need to back the team, otherwise we loose one of our biggest assets, our strong support base. All those calling for Pulis's head should be embarrassed... short termist idiots.

Where did I blame the fans? Read the post you tool. You are having a pop at the supporters after the team lost five nil at a team bottom of the league and havent been able to buy a win at home and you call me a tool? You want to sort your head out and watch your foul mouth while you are at it if you don't mind. Thanks. Yes, but at no point did I 'blame' the fans. Nor did I try to justify today's performance. I don't feel that I need to "sort my head out" because I feel that there's no need to be so fucking suicidal in the grand scheme of things.

Well that lasted a long time. You flew back from Bolton aswell. H I'm replying to what people have said on this thread, if that's alright with you RAF. I couldn't make the game today, I was suppose to be going but my girlfriends been in Hospital all week so we decided not to go, my Dad and I spend a lot of money on Stoke every year and me not being able to make it today doesn't mean I can't comment and try and get some perspective on the team or the fans' performance. Not that I need to justify any of that, to you.

JB mate you normally post some thought provoking stuff, but today mate you are totally out of touch. we have just gifted a shit team a 5-0 home win, their first points of the season at home and its becoming increasingly evident with each performance that we are not evolving, more like standing still. not saying we need wholesale changes, but just to get back to doing the basics right. to be honest mate, i dont give two hoots about us being in europe etc, it means nothing if we continue to play to shit in the league week after week because keep this run of form up and we will struggle to stay in the league.
i dont want to clog the board with post after post about a poor performance etc, so to the "stoke supporters" on other threads saying they are embarassed to be fans today, get a grip, the performance was embarassing and the players should be in for training tomorrow, but embarassed to be a stokie? please.

As I say, I'm not justifying the performance or trying to defend Pulis or Stoke away from home. This is purely about people wanting Pulis out. One of the main reasons for our success has been the stability and togetherness we have. Sometimes it's all too easy to get negative after 4 years of punching above our weight. Not embarrassed to be a Stokie mate, never, just embarrassed that after everything people still think we'd be better off if we removed the foundations from our great structure.

United Strength is Stronger.
It is easy to be united when we are selling 1000's of tickets for a cup final.
But, now is the time for the dedicted 12,000 to stick together for the sake of the team to see us through the next couple of games.
Let's have a moan tonight (I fully understand why), but then that must be it. Together as a club we can overcome bigger challenges than this - as we have shown before and will show again.

the last 2 league performances have been on a par with when alan ball was in charge. Too many shit players like Whelan, Delap, Wilkinson, Woodgate all picking up big wages, when in reality, they should all be playing for lower end of fizzy pop clubs.

I understand people moaning, I've been moaning to myself all afternoon I'm not trying to justify anything. I'm merely saying that to me, it's more than a bit extreme to suggest getting rid of Pulis when in the grand scheme of things we're still doing pretty well (I got a bit caught up hence the title of the thread, but ah well.) The sooner we're back to winning ways the better. I think Pulis would be much preferred if we won one lost one won one lost one, going on good runs seems to make the bad runs seem much worse ;D
