I think anyone expecting to drive there in 22 hours is wildly optimistic. It is holiday time and the traffic down to the Med will be horrendous, The roads down there are not the best and traffic at holiday time can be bad. Loads of Germans, Dutch and Austrians will be heading down there and the roads get very badly congested. I have been in queues for hours all through Germany and Austria.

Platinum holders should be garauneed a ticket right? I don't think we'll sell out our allocation to be honest. I reckon we'll take around 600, which will be great. Any more will be a bonus.

Tip for travelling ( We use this method when going to watch england) Look to fly to either milan or Berlin and pick up flights to eastern europe from there. And look for singles with different companies rather than a return package. That said, for split gatwick seems best airport just a bastard to get to !!

Take around 600? Are you mad? I doubt we will sell out our allocation but no way will we take only 600, this is our first European away game in a long time!

Maybe you can try Germanwings, they're very well connected with Split from several cities (Cologne, Stuttgart, Munich...)

If You go with car I suggest You go through Belgium, Germany and Austria. In Croatia there is new Highway and it goes to Split. Lt's say You would need about 10 hours (10-12) from Munich to Split. The only jam You might see is on Slovenian-Croatian Border. And maybe at toll's. But game in Split is 4th August, and jams are on the other side of the road ( people leavin Croatia), because holidays are over.

Flights and hostel booked. Just hope I get a ticket now! Who you booked with? Jet2 from Manchester and Wizz air from Luton are well over £500 pp?? I booked with Easyjet from Gatwick straight away while they were around £180. By 4pm they were up to £350

Holidays just start for Italians then.. their "ferragosto".. northern Adriatic is crippled with traffic at that period. Its hell on borders and highways...

Tony Scholes was quoted yesterday as stating that he hopes we sell our full allocation of 1,700 tickets for the return (away) leg . I always knew he lived in cloud cuckoo land !
