U2 have been absolutely fantastic so far, and anyone who says otherwise can do one. Did one after 'where the streets have no name' , a song I can't help but love as it was on my first proper vinyl album, when I was 11 I think 87? Apart from that they're a bunch of up emselves cunts Am I still allowed to say that?

as I write this, Im listening to a set by Irish band The Coronas, who are excellent, they are playing in the field over my back wall and I am in bed with a couple of cans listening to them as it pisses down , have a nice fire going, and a couple of can of copperberg, now thats how I like to enjoy a pop festival, I must be getting old.......

When they stick to basics ie 1st 2 albums especially Boy, only ACDC are a better live band than u2.

U2 are most definitely not shit.
4 decades... 10+ albums... countless hit singles, wall-to-wall world tours and the 360 tour has been going since 2009 and is still running...
You may not like them but they are the real deal.

I don't think I'd ever tire of kicking Jo Whiley in the twat. Or kicking Alex Zane, the twat.
Have Billy Bragg and Phil Jupitus been on yet doing some tedious 'look at me, I'm a socialist and this is what Glastonbury is all about, Joe Strummer, John Peel blah, blah, blah, yawn, yawn, fucking yawn' bit yet?
The best part of the coverage each year is when Mark Radcliffe comes on pissed, barely concealing his contempt for the bat-faced fuckshovel Whiley.
This is why I occasionally pay my licence fee.

What's the difference?
One of them is a cunt with eyeliner, one of them is a New Zealand cunt.
I forget which though.
Cunts.

Seeing Whiley reminds me why I haven't listened to Radio One for 9 years.

Second that. How the fuck she ever got a "career" in the meeja is beyond me. Bland, talentless, gurning twat. Perhaps that answers my question!

I think Jo Whiley maintained her career through pity, I've never particularly disliked her because I felt sorry for her because she's so shit at her job.
It's that toothless Scottish bird Edith Bowman that I hate.

.... thank god I never listened to Radio 1 when we were back for the FA Cup Final (& my little sister's wedding.) Things have obviously gone very downhill hill without John Peel RIP. Haven't they moved Glastonbury from Worthy Farm? Young James (who's farm it was, must be 45 now) used to get us in for nowt in the 80s to see great bands like The Only Ones. U2 were once good live just after the release of Boy (??1979)

I thought they were very average. Best headliner I've seen at Glastonbury is Muse last year.

Really enjoyed Little Dragon yesterday and was interesting to see Wu Tang Clan on the Pyramid Stage. Looking forward to catching tonights highlights of Janelle Monae, a genuine modern day R&B artist; Wild Beasts, Chemical Brothers and Battles. Keep an eye out for Ellen & the Escapades, I know the lead singer from Uni in Huddersfield and I think she opened one of the more recognised stages this afternoon. Pretty tidy too

It's that toothless Scottish bird Edith Bowman that I hate. Wouldn't disagree about Whiley. Back in the day I could be arsed with R1, I swear the entire 2 hours of her show could slip by with absolutely nothing she ever said registering with me at all. Aural wallpaper and nowt else.

There is literally about 2 bands/artists worth watching, and that's covering all the stages. Glastonbury 2011 is shit of the smelliest kind.

They have a fallow year every so often I think. Fair enough then. I think I will only be watching the main stage on Friday for BB King, U2 and Morrisey. On Saturday and Sunday it looks terrible apart from Don McLean and The Gaslight Anthem. Haven't got a clue who I will be watching on Saturday night headliners from the 3 main stages look awful. Reading and Leeds looks much better this year. Agreed and would only mostly go for the Friday mostly! Only band on the Sunday for me would have been Queens of the stone age! and Jimmy eat world yesterday!!
