i went in 94 and 95 and it was fucking brilliant. blistering sunshine every day. but to return to the topic, bono is a utter cunt. i can't believe anyone is defending him. U2 are the most overrated band in the history of popular music. You have obviously never seen U2 play live.

U2 are the most overrated band in the history of popular music. The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby are good albums regardless of Bono's polotical views or the size of his glasses. I missed out in 94, and 95 and went in 97 and 98 and then in later years. In 97 and 98 it was fucking horrible weather, a complete mud bath. Not been many festivals in recent years due to Premier league football and babies being born but the last one I did attend was teh V festival when the Verve reformed. Guess what-it fuckin hammered it down all weekend.

I hate them. Rational or not, I do and nothing will change my mind. Soz

The sun is shining people . However the site is very sludgy in places so wellies are essential.

£200 for a ticket when you don't even have an inkling of who is playing stopped me from being talked into going by my girlfriend, but to be fair the line up probably has enough to keep me amused for the weekend.

Can't be arsed with getting wet and that so never go to festivals.
Looking forward to seeing U2 on the telly though. They're the first band I really got into as a kid, so I'll always like them however uncool it may be.

I think I will only be watching the main stage on Friday for BB King, U2 and Morrisey. On Saturday and Sunday it looks terrible apart from Don McLean and The Gaslight Anthem. Haven't got a clue who I will be watching on Saturday night headliners from the 3 main stages look awful. Reading and Leeds looks much better this year.

Wow, just looked at the line up. Over the whole weekend there are 4 bands i would consider watching and two of those are jimmy eat world and OK GO (yeah, the band who make music so great, they are remembered for the treadmill ideo) The ipod of festivals. All hype for trendy 'look at me' scene kids. glastonbury is about much more than watching bands though. or at least in was in 94 and 95*. the glory years as i like to call them *baking hot all weekend, both years Ay up Will, I was there those two years too. Bleedin ace it was and roasting hot like you say. Britpop in full swing, did you get to the Manics set? Can't remember what night it was (Friday maybe?) but I remember it was just getting dark, they came on to a ridiculously loud air raid siren and loads of green smoke wearing IRA terrorist balaclavas and launched into a blistering set which the whole festival was talking about for the rest of the time. Fanfuckingtastic it was ;D

BB King and Morrissey, both superb.
Absolutely spine-chilling version of "Meat is Murder" from the Moz.
