Anyone think we will appeal & be successful?
Bloody harsh giving a red as well as the penalty I thought

It was harsh but it was within the rules so no chance of an appeal being successful.

Had to give a red.......but I thought Knight should have got a red when he brought Matty down last home game.

Can't believe Shawcross started to argue that he wasn't at fault! Makes him look stupid, it was an obvious red and penalty.

Agree entirely Matty was heading towards goal for a shot when brought down - it's this inconsistency which drives me nuts. I wasn't at the Fulham game so I don't know if he did ok or not overall, but as soon as I saw we had Stuart Atwell refereeing I knew there'd be a sending off. Not saying it was deffo gonna be us, just that a red was coming. Atwell reminds me of Styles, 75% of the time he'll be the centre of attention.

If you compare Ryan's offence last night and Knight's offence when he brought down Ethers last Saturday, it's hard to understand that Ryan got a red and Knight just a yellow!

I'm actually more than a bit disappointed in Pulis' interviews after the match. All of them focussing too much on the red card, and some half arsed attempt at moaning about it rather than focussing on the dreadful performance.
It made him sound more than a tit to be honest.
It was a foul, it was a penatly and it was a deserved red any day of the week and there are definitely no grounds for an appeal.
The one major weakness of Ryan's game is his constant man handling of players in the penalty area. Either it hasn't been noticed, it has but nothing has been done or it isn't sinking in. Either way, it needs to be sorted going forwards.

Am I the only one who thought this thread was about waitingforwaddo? ;D ;D Clear red in the modern game. My big objection yesterday was why wasn't Johnson given yellow cards for 2 of the most obvious and clear dives I have seen for many a year.

Johnson's quite possibly the biggest diving cheat in the Prem. Gerrard a close second.
Thankfully, most refs ignore him these days which is why his penalty count has gone down so much in recent seasons. His rep goes before him.

Is it a one match ban or two? Last night, folk were saying 2 because it is his second red card this season.

Pretty clear red. The guy was clean through and he brought him down. I wish TP hadn't gone on about it after the match.

It's difficult to understand quite what was going through Ryan's head. Dempsey may well have made it 2-0, but Begovic had closed him down and had more of a chance of saving that effort than the subsequent penalty.
I know Ryan didn't have a lot of time to think about it, but it was a pretty brainless foul, didn't stop Fulham scoring, left us with ten men for most of the second half and now means we're without him for two or three games.

Unfortunately the ref got it right. It was a penalty, and it did deny a goalscoring opportunity so Ryan had to go

2 game ban. 1 game for yesterday's card and the second game because it is his second card of the season.

Clear cut red - no question.
Stupid, stupid, stupid though because Fulhan would've / did score & now Ryan misses 3 games!
What do you call someone who is always out of position, won't tackle, never cuts out crosses & is frequently turned / side-stepped?
COLLINS!!! FFS please give him away!!

If you give the foul and its last man, you have to give the red. There's no way of saying it wasn't a foul... no grounds to appeal

2 game ban. 1 game for yesterday's card and the second game because it is his second card of the season. Apologies if I'm wrong but straight red = 3 match ban. It does not matter whether it is is his second of the season or not.

Why would Stoke appeal , they never bothered with Shawcross when the 50/50 took place with Ramsey. Since the ref has said it wasn't a sending off offence I do believe, he sent him because of the flack off Flabergas and company. So why should they bother now.

It does not matter whether it is is his second of the season or not. as it was a straight red and his second straight red it will be a 2 match band and not 3.....also yes was a foul, was silly, yes inconsistency again is the problem as knight should have been off last week, begovic worried me as he looked like he was so slow attempting to come out, maybe why ryan felt he had to do something, and as far as cheating goes, i believe dempsy was half way to ground before ryan touched him but still does not excuse the foul

We have these sort of messages all the time but for anyone who does not know Violent Conduct - Straight Red - 3 match Ban Professional foul - Straight Red - 1 match ban If however its your 2nd sending off of the season then an extra game is added Hence Ryan Shawcross is banned for 2 games
