There was another bid that came in yesterday for £ 320 million from the far East so don't bank on anything yet. I don't think there will be any appeal however as Hicks and Gillette haven't got a leg to stand on having already agreed the rules and make up of the board at its inception and therefore it was inevitable that the court would rule in their favour.They were simply going through the motions and stalling for time.They are hoping that this second bid for the club will go through instead , which is for slightly more money....£20 million infact.
THE NEW BIDDER WILL BUY THE CLUB OUTRIGHT AND OFFER £ 40 MILLION FOR NEW PLAYERS.

If Hicks and Gilette don't get stung it is bad for football. At some point football, as well as everyone else needs to remember that the value of your investment may go down as well as up.

Although I have no time for Hicks and co they did BUY liverpool football club with a large wedge of their own cash. Todays ruling basically means they can not sell the club that they are owners of to who they want or nearer the price they want. I can't help thinking this is a bit of a stitch up to 'save' Liverpool FC from problems of their own making. Would a smaller club get treated so leniently?

They have lost £ 140 million in answer to your question of their own money chaps. Don't be led so easily by what the press report. There's constantly a lot of things going on behind closed doors that the press don't get a sniff of. For e,g did you know when the Glaziers bought United then took out the ridiculous Loan at an extortinate rate, they personally got paid a commission/Admin fee in excess of £100 Million for their troubles. It's all very shady in the world of finance but the press will only be reporting on actual reported Cost/Sale losses not including what the pair of Yanks have actually earned out of Liverpool over the time of ownership. For all we know 1 of their many sub companys could have made 200Million out of Liverpool fc dealings dwarfing the so called loss they're about to incur. |

Yeah saw this but if the High Court has ruled against them and ruled out any chance of them appealing what difference or credence does this injunction carry and if any how come RBS/Liverpools Lawyers never saw it coming..? Surely something must be set in place to counteract it because they cant have expected a pair of gruff billionaire American businessmen to take it lying down..? Can they..? |

The New prospective owner arrived in London TONIGHT and talks are ongoing.

Maybe the Texan courts will have some sort of jurisdiction? After all, plenty of people try to block the publication of books for libel in this country, even if the book is by a foreign author who has no intention of selling it in Britain.

Looks like Hicks and Gillett aren't going to go quietly - that BBC story suggests they're looking to sue RBS and the board for $1.6 billion. If they do manage to delay the sale then what will happen on Friday when the debt to RBS becomes due? And will the proposed owners want to face a potential lawsuit. It's looking very messy.

Im rather hoping that this takes another month (til we played them) to get sorted because its obviously affecting the players. Also i still have this feeling that they will become the new leeds and get relegated

No way in the world the FA will dock points from "The Victims". They fall into the category of teams that get favourable treatment from the FA, just like West Ham in the whole Tevez fiasco. It really shows how badly run and biased the governing body is and if they receive anything other the points deduction it's an utter disgrace.
