Will be a following of around 3000 by the time Saturday comes around (this week is dragging even despite the Bank Holiday beginning of the week, I want it to be Saturday NOW!)

How many threads has there been on here about the number of tickets sold, read down a few pages F.F.S A word of warning, jump up and you will be ejected for your own safety so your best off keeping stum. Which stand are you sat in and what end as there are a few places you do not want to be sitting

Not a good idea to celebrate in anybody elses ground if you are sitting in the wrong end.

The way we played against Blackpool we'll be okay so long as we don't get kicked out for slumping down in our seats!
Should be a good game I reckon its the hardest of our remaining fixtures

Owlzat... I'll be to the right and just above the goal in the home end. Needn't worry about any celebrations - I'm with some (shall we say) "respected" Wednesday supporters so could do what I wanted. However - out of sheer respect for the home support I shall obviously not celebrate "if" Stoke do score as I'd hate that at the Britannia so it's a pretty mutual respect kinda thing. I'd burst inside though. Be a very tough game as you guys are fighting for survival.... There's NO WAY you'll go down though - It wouldn't be right.

It doesn't matter if your with 'respectful' Wednesday fans or not, it only takes another fan to notice you and then the word spreads and before you know it you've got 20-30 people wanting to take a pop because your in thier end. Sad I know but true. Enjoy your day on the Kop (but not too much )

We took 6,500 to Sheffield a few years back. Where the fuck is everybody? Surey this has already been covered this week?? You simply can't compare/contrast pre and post ID followings. Surely a better way of looking at it is we'll have nearly 2500 more than any other visit to Wednesday since the introduction of the ID scheme?

We used to take 39,500 to Sheffield wednesday before the id cards.

I wonder which club has the "best" away following in the UK when you factor in size of town/city/district. And the same for home support.
Burnley and Preston must be close. Both get good home gates and always bring a canny few to Stoke.
This is a true measue of support.
I remember clubs like Huddersfield always used to bring a canny few, and its essentially a small town in the shadow of Leeds and Manchester and is also the historical home of Rugby League.

Samz,
The 6,500 we took a few years back was the first game back in the championship from memory and was one of the last few games before the ID cards were forced upon us, nuff said.

Yes Mark, I'm being serious, 10,000 would be a cracking gate if your town had a population of say 73,000.
Stoke's population is 240,000 and we're averaging c16K and we're top.
So my simple maths tells me 1 in 7 people in Burnley turn out to watch them. Whereas 1 in 15 people from Stoke show up to watch us.
Stoke is a two city club but Burnley is a nine-club region with PNE, Bolton, Burnley, Bury, Blackburn, Wigan, Man Utd, Man City all very close.
Burnley is also twinned with hell and on a par with Stoke economically.

Burnley is a very small place so 10000 is like Stoke getting 50000
