I rate Ryan I really do, however a few times this season he's looked a bit shaky and he doesnt fill me with confidence when he has to communicate with Sorro.
However, he's still learning so I can excuse that, Im just not quite sure he's captain material just yet, if we had to change I may have given the armband to Whitehead instead as he seems to shout out a bit more.

we will continue to see wank back passes. I think the reason for this is that Sorenson's kicking is so woeful our back 4 are trying to play the perfect pass back to help with this weakness in his game. There has been several perfectly weighted back passes this season and I think this maybe the reason for it. It will cost us a goal if we persist I am sure but until then, we just have to ride with it I guess.

Dropping him would send his confidence right out the window.
However he's too young to be leading a team of older blokes, he doesn't communicate with Tommy and the rest of the back line as much as he should be and he looks a ghost of his former self from from about the end of last season.

How Huth managed to do one in that recent reserve game with Nash in goal I'll never know!

he is definitely not overrated ! seems a little skiddish since the "bad tackle"i dont think he is England class right now, but needs to sort some things out ! he definitely should not be captain however imo !

He had a dip in form at the beginning but is getting back to his best - but to be regarded as excellent he needs to sort his passing out

He is a very good centre half but the way some talk about him on here you'd think he was the second coming, so I'd agree that he is overrated by our fans. Just looks to shaky on the ball sadly, all the best centre half's have to have far more in their locker than just good tackling and positional sense, even Terry who is not renowned for being a ball playing centre half is comfortable with the ball at his feet, however our Ryan is much closer to the Matthew Upson mould of "Oh fuck get it away from me".

Even when Abdy was Captain it was Ryan that was calling all the shots and whatsmore Ryan has respect from his team-mates too and considering how young he is then that shows the make up of the lad.
Oozes captaincy material does Ryan and against Bolton he was superb.

I don't know what's supposed to have been wrong with him this season. Fairly solid 7 and 8 out of 10 performances across the board.

He's not been anything special this season, but he's been solid. It's simply a loss of form, hell pick up again come mid-season, just like last season and the season before.

Ryan is quality, think his confidence is a bit lower since the 'Ramsey tackle' but he will return to form soon enough and God willing Ryan has a fantastic career ahead of him.

I would take £10m for him. As the captain centre back he is responsible for all the shit marking e.g. their first goal, evra's free header. He needs someone alongside him.
