Making him captain was a mistake , but you cant drop him, his confidence is low enough after all the Wenger/Ramsey business, give him a few games and he will back to his best

If you look carefully there's a question mark which implies that the thread initiator is asking a question, eg; should Pulis consider dropping Shawcross? But the post which initiates the thread makes plain that the author's answer to his own question is yes! Hence a lot of the critical responses.

It's Huth and Collins that need dropping. I can't believe we're still dicking around with these two at full-back, they're a liability in those positions. Wilko Abdy Ryan Higgy Please! That's a back four I'd really like to see again Mikey. Our most balanced and reliable but would TP drop Huthy?

I've been to every home game and Shawcross has looked fine to me.

Typical thoughtless post from someone who's looking for any reason for an excuse for the fact that we haven't kept a clean sheet so far this season.
If we persist in playing square pegs in round holes. i.e. Centre halves at full back, this continued failure to keep a clean sheet may go on longer than people may think.

Shawcross doesn’t seem to have recovered from the Ramsey incident last season, hesitant and sometimes slow to get a tackle in he doesn’t even seem to be winning that many headers at the moment. Is it time to give him some time on the bench and switch Huth into the centre? I really don't think you watched the game at all yesterday, Shawcross was excellent.

I thought Abby was our best defender yesterday.

Clumsy? Did he give away a foul? He was sound, and if I was to rate him I would say a 7 was in order yesterday, he did naff all wrong.

We'll, our best striker has been dropped. Some loonies want our best defender dropped. Why don't we go the whole hog and get rid of Ethers as well?

Huth - Faye - Higgy - Collins
That should be the back 4 for the next league game at Newcastle

Drop Ryan??? Some of the comments on here are laughable, he has been at his brilliant best but he is still a top class defender and one if the first names on the team sheet.

We had all the nonsense after his Prem debut at Bolton. A few numpties wanted him loaned out to a Championship club.
They were hopelessly wrong then and they're hopelessly wrong now.

It made me laugh when people were saying he played badly against Shrewsbury. He literally didn't put foot wrong in that game as You'd expect and was imperious.
Yesterday he did nothing wrong, he wasn't outstanding but he was solid.

Faye has caused me to shit my kegs on numerous occassions. ;D Yesterday he was fine barring one really bad back pass but against Villa, the brown trousers were definitely needed.

Shawcross was excellent against Spuds so hasn't had a really bad start to the season. He is a class act but you had to take into account the fact he's up against one of the top 5 teams on the planet Since when has he played against, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Bayern Munich.

Bayern...Re Faye, you surely wish for our team to have some decent footballers, then complain that when we get one, he makes you shit your pants. The crowd really don't let our players play football. We are screaming and shouting "man on" when a player goes within 10ft of one of our own. 28,000 shouting man on and is it any wonder our players shit themselves. Abdy is cool and calm, confident on the ball and is actually one of our more talented footballers. I love him. He is seemingly returning to form after a dodgy period last season. Long may it continue. You need a stronger constitution my friend!

I wish we had more liabilities in our team then Stan, particularly at right and left back.

Huth and Collins are far more likely to cost us a goal than Abdy at the moment.
Abdy struggled last season when clearly carrying an injury for much of the season, but he has been great so far this season and is easily the form player in our current back 4.

But I can'f fathom why we don't use him more for distribution out of the back because he is a good footballer. Against West Ham he was sound barring one terrible back pass but everyone of the back 4 have done a wank back pass in the last 2 games.
