Wilson-a class act.
Based on Monday, no. Could he be? I think there's a possibility if he can toughen up a bit. Do I hope he starts tomorrow? No.

Wasn't Jones signed for the ludicrously monikered 'Mama role'? Wasn't Walters signed as cover for the wide positions? There is abosolutely zero pace up front with him and Jones in the side and the team have performed poorly with him upfront. We were largely clueless on Monday and heading for yet another defeat until Fuller came on. I'd go as far as to say that if we play the whole season with Walters and Jones up front we'll be down by Easter. I'm not advocating starting Walters up front, more contesting your ludicrous assumption that he's "shit". He was poor on Monday but has been good in the other games. You seem to be suggesting Jones has no pace as well, which suggests you haven't seen much of him either. Jones is no Gerry Taggart in the pace stakes but neither is he particularly quick. As for Walters, he did ok(and no better in my opinion) against Tottenham but was out of his depth against Chelsea and Aston Villa. If you're not suggesting he should start up front(which is the only position Pulis has played him thus far), where do you think he should play?

Jones is quicker than anyone else in the side barring maybe Fuller. Didn't the stats a couple of years ago have him as one of the quickest players in the league? I think he's a useful squad player who can cover the right and up front - I was just taking issue with your assertion that he was "shit" when he's had three good games and one poor one.

Absolutely nothing to do with how well he plays. What I see in Walters is a player who works hard, does the simple things, decent in the air and can cover a few positions, "gets up and down", no real outstanding quality about his play but does a good, solid job. Exactly what Cresswell is/was at Championship level. Walters has that bit extra to do the same job at Premier League level. I just don't see where he fits in when Pennant, Etherington, Fuller, Jones and Gudjohnsen are all fully fit and firing to be honest. Yeah, he's a squad player, I agree. I don't agree about the lack of quality thing however. While not a world beater, he has more pace, awareness, and a better touch than Cresswell. His mobility and abililty to take the ball down on his chest or take it down first time and hold it up offer far better than either Mama or Cresswell, and I think, even as a squad player, he's going to be a bigger asset than either. Agree 100%

You're all way out of your depth. Who else could we have afforded?

Oh and by the way, having watched the game live and on repeat three times, wilson was one of the players of the match - he played very well.

this thread is really surprising from what i saw of Wilson he was constantly out of position and running around like a headless chicken. Im not going to judge his season but on what i saw he looked like a played who needs a few games to settle in, looked very much like Wilkinson when he was played in right midfield unsure of his position and role.
As for walters hes aggressive, a good passer of the ball. Tracks back well, ill ask who this who passed the ball to Wilson to make that sublime pass to jones?
IMO id have walters over sidbe anyday.

Hope he starts today and looking forward to seeing how he gets on against Mr S Parker supposedly one of the best CM's in England on his day. If he keeps Scottie P quiet with afew well times tackles then job done.

He's not there to tackle. We have others to do that.
