Aren't all season long foreign loans classed as 1 year contracts? I seem to remember that "Junior" in Bozzie's season was classed as a 1 year contract with us with a return clause after the end of the season. This is one reason why you are allowed unlimited foreign 'loans'.

im guessing it will be a 12 month deal with a option of another year? that would be a cracking deal ;D

I think you will find that we have bought his contract for a one year period for 2m, after that period he becomes a Monaco player again. We may well have options included in the deal to either extend or purchase. He is a loan player.

www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12040_6351942,00.html Don't suppose it really matters as he was in the last year of his Monaco deal anyway. Obviously a lot of financial hijinks took place in the last couple of hours yesterday on this one to get it over the line?

Hmmmm, think I'd of preferred it to be a loan. There's no way we've matched his previous salary, so he's either taken a pay cut or had massive golden handshakes.

Probably a good deal for all concerned. We get him for a year and see how it goes and he gets to have a good look at us. True, he'll be a free agent after 12 months and could go elsewhere but, if he enjoys his time with us, he might well sign a new deal during the next 12 months. We're in no worse a position to sign him longer term than if the deal had simply been a 12 month loan. In fact we're better placed as we might just get him to commit to a longer contract at any time during the next 12 months. We couldn't have done that had he been on loan.

I seem to remember that "Junior" in Bozzie's season was classed as a 1 year contract with us with a return clause after the end of the season. This is one reason why you are allowed unlimited foreign 'loans'. I think you're right, Forny. I remember that being mentioned about the Junior deal. And, as he's out of contract in Monaco next summer, maybe that's why it's , strictly speaking, being formulated as a 'permanent' deal?
